Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team to support a large transformative transportation project.

In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn, assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.

  • the Gordie Howe Bridge near Detroit, MI

  • the Clear Path projects in Indianapolis, IN

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Work with a team of engineers and technicians to design and produce a variety of traffic engineering plans and reports.

  • Help to deliver traffic signal design, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans along with quantity tabulation.

  • Assist with analysis, design and implementation of projects such as corridor studies, traffic impact studies, alternative intersection design, and traffic operational analysis.

  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required.  May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.

  • May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.

  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

  • Take part in Parsons’ quality management plan to implement QA/QC procedures.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.

  • MicroStation or AutoCAD proficiency is a must.

  • Adept understanding of methodologies of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Signal Warrant studies.

  • SYCHRO, HCS, VISSIM and SIDRA expertise is required.

  • Knowledge of roadway lighting design including photometric analysis is also highly desirable but not required.

  • PE registration is highly preferred.

  • PTOE certification is highly preferred

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
