BerryDunn is seeking a Senior User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Analyst to support Hawaiʻi Med-QUEST system enhancements and Medicaid modernization efforts. This role will help validate system functionality, confirm business requirements are met, and support successful releases across project lifecycles. 

The Senior UAT Analyst will plan, coordinate, and execute UAT activities for system enhancements, defect fixes, regression needs, and release cycles. This includes translating requirements, business requirement documents (BRD), workflows, user stories, and operational scenarios into testable scenarios; developing test plans, test scripts, Test Script Inventories, acceptance criteria, and validation evidence; coordinating test data and case needs; documenting results; tracking defects; and communicating testing outcomes to the State, system vendor(s), business, technical, training, operations, policy, change management, and project leadership teams. The role will also support release readiness, go/no-go preparation, go-live support, production validation, and post-implementation follow-up. 

Travel expectations: This role may require travel up to 25% of the year.

You Will
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute UAT activities for system enhancements, defect fixes, releases, and implementation activities. 
  • Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts, Test Script Inventories, test data needs, and acceptance criteria based on requirements, BRDs, workflows, and operational scenarios. 
  • Translate business, policy, operational, technical, and reporting needs into clear test scenarios that validate system functionality and user expectations. 
  • Execute functional, end-to-end, regression, integration, release validation, and production validation testing. 
  • Identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and close defects, issues, blockers, and discrepancies. 
  • Support UAT kickoff sessions, daily UAT huddles, defect triage, testing readiness reviews, stakeholder walkthroughs, go-live preparation, and post-release retrospectives. 
  • Coordinate with MQD business users, KOLEA teams, vendors, IT leadership, workstream leads, project managers, and subject matter experts to confirm scenarios and support release readiness. 
  • Use Jira to track testing tasks, defects, action items, blockers, dependencies, release milestones, status notes, priorities, due dates, dashboards, and reporting needs. 
  • Maintain clear UAT documentation in SharePoint, including test plans, test scripts, execution evidence, defect logs, validation summaries, traceability materials, and release readiness documentation. 
  • Communicate test progress, risks, open defects, acceptance decisions, and release readiness considerations in a clear and actionable way. 
  • Partner with training, operations, policy, and change management teams to identify release impacts, support training readiness, and inform implementation materials. 
  • Support go-live readiness, release decision-making, post-implementation validation, and follow-up activities to help minimize production issues and promote adoption. 
You Have
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years in a testing, quality assurance, business analysis, system implementation, or modernization role. 
  • Experience supporting UAT across the testing lifecycle, including planning, scenario design, test script development, execution, defect management, retesting, reporting, and release readiness. 
  • Experience translating requirements, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria into test cases, expected results, validation steps, and documented evidence. 
  • Experience developing or maintaining Test Script Inventories, traceability materials, defect logs, validation summaries, and UAT status reporting. 
  • Experience executing functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, release validation, or production validation testing. 
  • Experience using Jira or similar tools to identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and close defects. 
  • Ability to communicate testing progress, risks, open issues, defect trends, and acceptance recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, documentation, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Experience supporting Medicaid, health and human services, eligibility, claims, encounter, MMIS, or integrated eligibility system initiatives. 
  • Experience working witH vendor-managed Medicaid systems, or similar public sector technology environments. 
  • Experience supporting release readiness, go-live preparation, production validation, post-implementation follow-up, or release retrospectives. 
  • Experience coordinating with training, operations, policy, change management, vendor, and project leadership teams. 
Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000-$120,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
