SEO & AEO Responsibilities:

  • Developing strategy (onsite, offsite, content, technical, & answer engine optimization)
  • Developing and owning your client's Answer Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO/LLMO) strategy — positioning client content to be discovered, trusted, and cited by AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Claude
  • Responsible for SEO and AEO audits of all types (technical, content, keyword, schema/structured data, entity, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of technical SEO, including site speed optimization, hosting ramifications, HTML optimization, image optimization, minification, etc.
  • In-depth understanding of onsite SEO, including internal linking, page structure, URL structure, etc.
  • In-depth understanding of off-site SEO, including external linking, etc.
  • Structuring content for AI extraction, answer-first formatting, semantic/atomic chunking, Q&A headings, FAQ blocks, and concise machine-readable copy
  • Implementing structured data (Schema.org) such as FAQPage and other markup that supports retrieval and citation in AI answers
  • Entity-based optimization — building semantic relevance and consistent entity signals so AI systems can reconcile and trust the brand
  • Monitoring AI visibility — tracking brand citations, mentions, and share of answers across major answer engines, and iterating on content that underperforms
  • Good working knowledge of WordPress and SEO/AEO tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, KWFinder, Screaming Frog, and AI citation-tracking platforms (e.g., Profound or similar)
  • Represent Bullseye as an SEO and AEO expert by demonstrating knowledge, strategies, and tactics during client meetings
  • Provides analysis on monthly and quarterly reporting for SEO clients, including AI visibility and citation metrics
  • Train co-workers on SEO and AEO (onsite, offsite, content, technical, & answer engine optimization)
  • Presents SEO and AEO strategies directly to clients, translating complex search concepts into clear recommendations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant digital agency experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated experience or strong working knowledge of AEO/GEO/LLMO and how AI answer engines surface and cite content
  • Outstanding internal and external communication skills
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to different types of inquiries
  • Be a fast, flexible, and effective problem solver
  • Analytical
  • Be proactive and self-motivated
  • Demonstrate the ability to work quickly and efficiently with various internal and external resources
  • Strong goal orientation and a love for seeing a project completed

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Conversion Rate Optimization (Heat Mapping and A/B Testing)
  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and how AI systems chunk, retrieve, and synthesize content (a plus)
  • ORM

  • Experience in Paid Search in Google and Microsoft is a plus
