Position Overview

Are you obsessed with business content on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts? Do you instinctively know why one hook works and another flops? Can you turn smart ideas into scroll-stopping short-form scripts?

We want you.

The Short Form Business Writer + Social Coordinator is a role for a strong writer with great taste who wants to break into high-growth business content for Contrarian Thinking, an investment and advisory firm founded by founder Codie Sanchez.

You’ll be responsible for writing high-performing short-form business content and helping shape how Contrarian Thinking shows up across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

This role sits at the intersection of writing, trend analysis, and social strategy. You’ll write scripts, study what’s working across short-form platforms, and adapt winning formats from top business creators (including Codie Sanchez) into content that performs.

If you’re obsessed with short-form content, and eager to learn fast inside a high-performance team, this role is for you. You will report to the Short Form Creative Lead.

Who We Are

At Contrarian Thinking, we don't just free minds and build bank accounts – we're orchestrating an all-out rebellion against financial mediocrity.

Our battle plan? Help 1 million people become financially free, and create 100,000 small business owners who will reshape the economy from the ground up.

In less than 5 years, we have:

  • Rallied ~11 million followers
  • Turned 9-to-5ers into owners, helping thousands ditch the corporate hamster wheel
  • Bought into dozens of real-world businesses through our Main Street holding company
  • Launched an investment fund that backs some of the world’s fastest-growing companies
What Your Days Will Look Like…
  • Write short-form business scripts for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts

    (hooks, pacing, structure, and CTAs)

  • Help our Short Form Creative Lead translate business, finance, ownership, and investing concepts into clear, compelling, viral-friendly content

  • Identify what’s working right now across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts and adapt those formats to our brand

  • Track and analyze trends, formats, hooks, and storytelling patterns

  • Study top-performing business creators and apply winning frameworks to new scripts

  • Collaborate with social, video, and platform leads to ensure scripts are optimized for each platform

  • Support content planning by aligning scripts with production timelines

  • Test new formats, angles, and content structures to improve reach, retention, and growth

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong writing ability and great instincts
  • Genuinely obsessed with short-form (specifically business) content
  • Comfortable learning fast and iterating based on feedback
  • Strong grasp of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts (must love doom scrolling)
  • Ability to recognize viral hooks and repeatable formats
  • Clear, concise communicator with attention to detail
  • Organized, proactive, and dependable
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience writing for social media, newsletters, or digital platforms
  • Background or interest in business, finance, entrepreneurship, or investing
  • Strong pattern recognition and curiosity
  • Ability to explain complicated ideas in simple language
  • Comfort taking direction and turning feedback into better work quickly
  • A strong writer first, platform-native second
  • Curious, coachable, and hungry to improve
  • Analytical about what works — not precious about ideas
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-feedback environment
  • Excited to help people learn how to make money and build ownership
