About Us:

At Kooth, our mission is to create welcoming, accessible spaces for personalized digital mental health care that empowers young people to thrive. Grounded in an early-intervention model, we help youth aged 13–25 build resilience, access timely support, and lead fulfilling lives. We are more than a digital service — we are a movement for inclusive, evidence-informed mental health care.

Our culture is rooted in our values: Alongside You, Flexible, Compassionate, Committed, and Safe. These guide everything we do - how we show up for young people, how we collaborate as a team, and how we build solutions that meet communities where they are. With Kooth, you’ll be part of something bigger than yourself: meaningful work with measurable impact.

We bring this mission to life through Soluna, California’s first-in-the-nation digital behavioral health service for 13–25-year-olds. Soluna removes barriers to care by providing nearly immediate access to 1:1 coaching, Care Navigation, and self-guided tools helping young people find real support, build resilience, and discover hope when they need it most. Together with state and local partners, we’re transforming access to mental health support for youth. Learn more at solunaapp.com/impact.

What We’re Looking For:

Role Objective:

As a Social Content & Engagement Lead, you will own day-to-day content and community for the Soluna app and its social channels. Soluna gives young people free, confidential mental health support: self-guided wellbeing activities, a moderated peer community, and 1:1 chats with mental health coaches

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Main responsibilities:

Community Management & Engagement (40%)

  • Own day-to-day management of Soluna's social channels, with accountability for engagement rate and follower growth.
  • Lead every channel interaction with compassion, curiosity, and inclusivity, speaking up for Soluna's diverse community.
  • Moderate comments and DMs, track sentiment, and escalate safeguarding or crisis concerns to the Editorial Manager under our clinical protocols.
  • Act as primary contact for social and UGC asset generation across external creators, student brand partners, and Young Adult Ambassadors (YAAs), managing inboxes and dedicated creator channels.
  • Find, vet and coordinate brand-aligned partnerships with influencers and organizations that grow Soluna's reach.

Content Planning and Operations Management (35%)

  • Direct YAAs, influencers, and UGC creators: develop concepts, write briefs, manage delivery schedules, and review final content.
  • Build, schedule, and publish all editorial and creator content week by week and month by month, keeping a consistent cadence on every channel.
  • Lead weekly content planning and partner with the Editorial Manager on quarterly roadmaps that balance evergreen topics, campaigns, leadership goals, and trends.
  • Spot gaps and low-volume periods in the calendar and fill them with brand pillars, internal initiatives, or key messages.
  • Track and report channel performance, and use the data to decide what to make more of, change, or stop.

Content Creation: Video & Copy (25%)

  • Ideate, film, edit, and publish high volumes of original short-form video and static content grounded in the real lives of Gen Z and Gen Alpha, and the ecosystem of support around them.
  • Write clear, culturally fluent copy for social and in-app touchpoints: captions, graphics, in-app scripts, carousels, quizzes, text chats and occasional paid social ads.
  • Create clear, easy to follow campaign briefs for creators and ambassador groups.
  • Turn trends and platform shifts around fast, either making the content yourself or assigning it to creators and YAAs.
  • Present mental health topics in fresh, approachable ways that reduce stigma, while following clinical safeguarding standards without exception.

A Day and a Week in the Role

Most days blend community, planning, and creation. Here’s what the rhythm looks like.

Every Day:

  • Check all Soluna channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and others) in the morning and afternoon; reply to comments and DMs within one business day and flag safeguarding concerns to the Editorial Manager right away, following the escalation protocol.
  • Scan trends, sounds, formats, and community sentiment, and decide which moments Soluna should join that day.
  • Publish or schedule the day's content and confirm captions, alt text, links, and clinical review are complete.
  • Answer creator, YAA, and partner messages, give feedback on drafts, and unblock deliveries.
  • Film, edit, or write at least one piece of original content or a fast-turn trend response.

Every Week:

  • Build and lock the next week's content calendar across channels, with backups for trend slots.
  • Brief creators and YAAs on new concepts and track delivery against deadlines.
  • Review performance: reach, engagement rate, saves and shares, follower growth, and app-intent clicks; share a short readout with what worked, what didn't, and what changes next week.
  • Meet with the Editorial Manager to align on campaigns, roadmap priorities, and clinical review.

Every Month and Quarter:

  • Report on channel growth and engagement against targets.
  • Contribute to the quarterly content roadmap and campaign plans (for example, back-to-school and awareness moments).
  • Source and vet new creator and influencer partners.
What Success Looks Like:

By month 12, Soluna's channels grow steadily against agreed follower and engagement targets, powered by a reliable creator bench and a weekly content rhythm.

  • 30 Days: Develop a clear understanding of the app, Soluna's voice, clinical safeguarding protocols, and departmental systems; take over daily community management; audit channel performance and set baselines
  • 60 Days: Own the weekly content calendar; brief and manage active creators and YAAs; publish original video every week
  • 90 Days: Deliver a quarterly growth plan with follower and engagement targets per channel; launch at least one new creator or influencer partnership
  • 12 Months: Hit agreed growth and engagement targets; run a dependable creator and YAA bench; show content that drives app interest

RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring:

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years experience in social media content creation, social copywriting, and community management for a brand, agency, media company, or creator.
  • Prior day-to-day management of at least one brand or creator social channel with an audience of 25,000+ followers.
  • Proven, measurable follower and engagement growth on channels you managed, with metrics you can share (for example, follower growth over a set period, engagement rate, views, saves, and shares).
  • A portfolio showing both short-form social video you created and strong writing in a teen or young adult voice.
  • Hands-on experience moderating comments and DMs and handling sensitive or negative community conversations with care.
  • Experience sourcing, briefing, and managing content creators, influencers, or UGC partners from concept to delivery.
  • Fluency in the culture, formats, and trends of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snap, Discord, X, and LinkedIn.
  • Comfort appearing on camera, filming others, and producing collaborative video for social and in-app use.
  • Working knowledge of native platform analytics and social management tools (for example, Statusbrew, Sprout, or Later), and the ability to turn data into content decisions.
  • Strong creative writing skills, adapting tone and format across headlines, storytelling and educational content.
  • Strong alignment with Soluna's mission to make mental health support accessible, approachable and relevant to young people.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social media marketing, digital communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience creating content for youth audiences (13–25) or in health, wellness, education, or nonprofit settings.
  • Experience working within clinical, legal, or safeguarding review processes.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Wrike, Figma or Miro, and Contentful (or willingness to learn).
  • Experience with paid social or creator-led campaigns.
  • A growth mindset that welcomes creative risk, failure, and starting over, and the ability to thrive in start-up ambiguity.
