This is a remote position.

A remote role as social media presence and content workflow, helping tell the story of humanitarian aid delivered across Palestine, Gaza, and Africa.

Organization: The name will be shared with shortlisted candidates before the client interview.

Location: Remote - open to candidates in the Middle East with some overlap with Central Time Zone (Chicago)

Role Type: Full-time (40 hrs/week) ideal or part-time (20+ hrs/week) consultant-contractor.

Reports to: Operations Manager

The opportunity

Our Client is  looking for a Social Media & Content Specialist to own its social media presence and content workflow, freeing up the small operations team to focus on field work. In this role, you will edit, publish, and create daily content from material provided by field teams, collaborate with operations staff coordinating campaigns and donor updates, and help deliver consistent storytelling around the organization's humanitarian programs.

About the organization

Our Client is a humanitarian nonprofit founded in 2015, delivering food, water, housing, medical support, and family relief across Palestine, Gaza, and Africa. It runs on transparency and word-of-mouth, with roughly 97% of donations going directly to programs. The operations team is currently focused on scaling outreach and fundraising visibility while maintaining consistency in how the mission is communicated online.

What you will do
  • Own Facebook and Instagram (primary channels) from incoming field material through published posts, with potential growth into TikTok and other platforms.

  • Deliver edited reels, short videos, photos, graphics, flyers, and campaign visuals for ongoing and emergency fundraising campaigns.

  • Organize and maintain content flowing through the organization's Google Workspace shared drive.

  • Build simple SOPs so content production stays consistent even when offline.

  • Coordinate timing of posts around active campaigns and donor updates.

  • Support Mailchimp Friday newsletter updates with relevant content and links.


What you bring
  • Demonstrated ability in short-form video editing (reels, stories) and clean graphic design in Canva, shown through portfolio or work samples.

  • Comfortable working independently from a remote, async setup with reliable internet connection.

  • Based in the Middle East with some overlap with the Central Time Zone (Chicago).

  • Genuine alignment with humanitarian work in Palestine and Gaza.

  • Strong written communication in English.


Helpful, but not essential
  • Experience in nonprofit or faith-community communications.

  • Familiarity with TikTok or emerging short-form platforms.

  • Prior experience managing multiple fundraising campaigns simultaneously.

How the engagement works

Contracting party: You will contract directly with Apricot, which will manage contracting, invoicing/payroll, payments, and administrative support) Day to day, you will work with the clients’ Projects operations team and report to the Ops Manager.

For a consultant/contractor engagement, your work will be based on the agreed scope and deliverables. You are expected to provide your own laptop and basic equipment, maintain reliable connectivity and a secure working environment, and follow required security controls, including two-factor authentication.

If you contract through Apricot, planned check-ins are [month 1 and month 3 / other approved cadence] to see how the engagement is working and help address issues.
