We’re Curiosity. An independent creative solutions agency in Cincinnati that lives and breathes the power of being strategically curious. We ask insightful questions to uncover surprising perspectives. Because in a world with no definitive answers, the more curious you are, the more solutions you reveal.

Curiosity is seeking an ad agency Social Strategy Director to build, lead, and elevate the social and influencer discipline.

This role is both visionary and hands-on: you will define what great social strategy looks like at Curiosity while partnering deeply across planning, creative, media, and analytics to translate fascination into culturally resonant, socially native ideas.

At Curiosity, we fuel brands with fascination. Social is where that fascination becomes tangible — where brands earn attention, build community, and participate in culture. Influencers and creators play a big part in that. As Social Strategy Director, you’ll set the vision for how brands show up across platforms, how they behave, how they publish, how they activate communities, how they turn cultural moments into business impact, and how they collaborate with the voices leading the conversation.

You shape the systems — social architectures, playbooks, content frameworks, influencer ecosystems, community principles, real-time protocols, measurement frameworks, and platform POVs — that guide how brands operate in social every single day.

Your objective is simple: enable culturally sharp, platform-native, high-performing social work and influencer collaborations by defining and elevating the social practice at Curiosity. You are the agency’s foremost expert in social strategy—guiding clients, inspiring teams, and charting the future of our social practice.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned social strategist with agency experience who understands the intersection of culture, creativity, platforms, and community. You bring clarity to chaos, confidence to ambiguity, and energy to every room. You understand both the craft and the purpose of social—how to build brands, drive conversation, inspire action, and create relevance.

This role goes well beyond knowing about content calendars, carousels or paid social. We're seeking someone with a pulse on what's culturally relevant, who can bring concise insights to the creative team that will inspire attention-worthy social-first concepts and creative work. The right person lives and breathes social but also embodies the skill of a creative strategist in the ad agency landscape.

You have the instincts of a cultural anthropologist, the rigor of a planner, the ear of a community manager, and the POV of a creator.

You have:

  • 8+ years of experience in specialized social strategy at a creative, digital, or integrated agency
  • Proven success developing breakthrough social strategies, playbooks, influencer collaborations, and platform-specific ideas on behalf of an agency for your respective clients
  • An online portfolio or PDF portfolio of case studies that will reflect the strategic insights you brought to specific projects, as well as the great social-first creative work that resulted
  • Experience leading and growing social strategy capabilities within an ad agency setting
  • Mastery of platform behaviors, content formats, community dynamics, influencers, and real-time conversation
  • Deep experience using social listening, research, and data to generate insights and guide decisions
  • A track record of running complex social initiatives across channels and teams
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior strategists or social practitioners

You bring:

  • Gravitas – You lead rooms with a clear, compelling POV
  • Social Fluency – You speak platform, behavior, culture, and content natively
  • Collaboration – You work seamlessly across creative, media, production, and analytics
  • Curiosity – You see patterns in culture, conversation, and community others miss
  • Craft – You know what great social work looks like—and how to make it happen
  • Leadership – You shape the discipline while elevating the people within it

What You'll Do

Chart Social’s Path Forward

  • Develop social brand strategies, social ecosystem maps, always-on operating systems, and influencer partnerships.
  • Build platform-specific strategies for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, Pinterest, Snapchat, and emerging platforms
  • Create social playbooks that define voice, tone, content architecture, community rules, channel purpose, and platform mandates
  • Translate social listening, behavioral signals, and cultural trends into sharp insights and actionable strategic direction for social and influencers.
  • Reframe briefs to ensure ideas are social-first rather than retrofitted content work
  • Define what success looks like across social KPIs, behavioral metrics, and measurement frameworks

Lead, Steward and Grow

  • Serve as the connective tissue between planning, creative, account, media, and analytics
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior clients—advising on social maturity, ecosystem design, and cultural relevance
  • Partner with Creative leads to shape social-first ideas, content systems, and storytelling approaches
  • Collaborate with Media and Analytics to ensure strategies are targeted, measurable, and optimized
  • Help shape the agency’s social (and influencer) philosophy, tools, and internal education
  • Lead social strategy in new business, bringing a modern, culturally sharp POV

Inspire Through Insights, Culture, and Research

  • Direct social listening, community pattern analysis, behavioral audits, and conversation mapping
  • Build trend reports, cultural POVs, and platform forecasts to proactively guide clients
  • Identify the intersections of culture, conversation, influence, and platform behavior
  • Turn data from analytics, listening tools, and performance reviews into strategic optimization paths

Enable Great Social Creative

  • Write social-first briefs for platform-native creative ideas, influencer programs, UGC concepts, content series, and real-time activations
  • Partner with Creative teams to shape content systems — hero/maintenance frameworks, content cadences, narrative arcs, and content buckets
  • Work with Media to ensure paid and organic strategies ladder to the same social vision
  • Support influencer strategy — selection logic, tiers, content guidelines, and measurement
  • Build and refine community management principles and engagement playbooks
  • Ensure all social work is platform-right, behavior-right, culture-right, and brand-right

Pull Others Up

  • Manage and mentor social strategists or hybrid planners with social focus
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback that develops talent and expands skillsets
  • Help shape career paths and professional development in social strategy

Expand Our Impact

  • Define and evolve Curiosity’s social offering, frameworks, and tools
  • Guide clients toward modern social maturity—across community, content, influencer, and cultural capabilities
  • Author thought leadership on platform shifts, cultural trends, community insights, and brand behaviors
  • Lead pitches and social innovation initiatives that expand the agency’s portfolio and reputation
  • Push the boundaries of what social can do for brands—and for Curiosity
