We build and run Expedia Group’s central data processing platform, helping teams across the company turn large volumes of data into fast, reliable analytics and machine learning that power better traveler experiences. In this role, you will build and enhance core data processing and AI capabilities, improving the reliability, performance, and usability of our platform so teams can more easily create and operate pipelines for critical business decisions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality software services and components, including system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling, to solve well‑scoped business and technical problems.

  • Collaborate with peers, product, and design to break down requirements, estimate work, and deliver features and fixes that improve customer outcomes across multiple domains.

  • Write clean, reliable, and maintainable code, including unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews to raise code quality and share technical knowledge.

  • Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues in production and non‑production environments, contributing to operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement.

  • Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

  • Adapt quickly to new technologies, frameworks, and domains, contributing effectively across different services or components where needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • Professional software development experience, including object‑oriented or functional programming, version control, and debugging in at least one modern language (for example, Java, C#, Kotlin, Scala, Python, JavaScript, or similar).

  • Experience designing and implementing APIs, data models, and low‑level system designs, and delivering features or services in a production environment.

  • Experience owning well‑defined services, components, or features through the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support.

  • Familiarity with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient services or components, including thoughtful API design, data modeling, and system design (LLD) in a cloud or distributed environment.

  • Experience operating services in production at scale, including monitoring, logging, alerting, incident investigation, and improving reliability and performance.

  • Demonstrated contributions to improving engineering practices (for example, test coverage, CI/CD pipelines, automation, or code review standards) that raise the quality bar for a team or domain.

  • Experience safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, such as incorporating AI‑powered APIs, tools, or workflows into existing services while managing quality, performance, and risk.

  • Experience applying AI‑assisted development or analysis tools in day‑to‑day engineering work to improve productivity, code quality, or operational insights.
