Summary of Job:
The Software Engineer, Business Applications designs, builds, and supports the business applications that Lee Company runs on. Microsoft Dataverse is at the core of that portfolio, and this role extends it with real software: C# plug-ins, JavaScript and TypeScript, code-first applications, and event-driven integrations to the other systems the business depends on. Most of this role is building and extending model-driven apps and pro-code extensions on Dataverse; the integration and AI work is a growing part of the portfolio. This is a hands-on development position responsible for the full lifecycle of the solutions it delivers, ensuring all production changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology, source control, appropriate testing, and risk guidelines.Education and Experience

- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, with working knowledge of C# and JavaScript/TypeScript strongly preferred.
- Experience designing relational data models and working with the data behind an application, not just its interface.
- Hands-on experience with Git and pull request based development workflows; GitHub and GitHub Actions strongly preferred.
- Preferred: work experience with cloud services in Azure or a comparable platform (SaaS/PaaS).
- Preferred: hands-on experience with Microsoft Dataverse, model-driven apps, Power Automate, and Power Platform solution management and ALM.
- Preferred: experience with Dataverse plug-in development, PCF or web resource development, Copilot Studio, or Azure AI services.
- Preferred: working proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, including the discipline to verify and test what they produce.
- Genuine interest in learning the Microsoft business applications platform deeply and excitement for the impact these solutions can have on employee and customer experiences.
