Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within our platform engineering team, you will build and maintain services and pipelines that power our code intelligence platform. You will connect semantic-tree and code-index data to engineering and controls workflows, implementing integrations and automated checks under the guidance of senior engineers. You will take ownership of your components, ensuring their reliability and correctness in production. Your work will directly impact developer experience and compliance automation, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the platform’s evolution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scalable services and pipelines for semantic-tree and code-index data
  • Implement integration points with CI/CD pipelines, PR checks, policy engines, and developer tooling
  • Translate compliance and control requirements into automated checks against code structure
  • Write tests, monitoring, and documentation for owned components
  • Debug and resolve issues across the stack, from data pipelines to integrations
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews, contributing ideas to improve architecture
  • Collaborate with control owners and engineering teams to understand usage needs
  • Take ownership of reliability and correctness in production environments
  • Apply best practices in software engineering and automation
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Stay current with industry trends in code intelligence and compliance automation

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Java or Python and apply strong knowledge of AI concepts and experience in program analysis or structural code representations
  • Build and deliver moderately complex features independently
  • Develop and maintain backend services and data pipelines and write clean, well-tested code and maintain documentation
  • Translate technical requirements into reliable, automated solutions
  • Collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly
  • Adapt to evolving technologies and requirements and manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Uphold inclusive and ethical standards in engineering
     

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience with static analysis, ASTs, code parsing, or structural code representations
  • Familiarity with search/indexing systems and large-scale data pipelines
  • Exposure to SDLC processes and compliance/controls engineering
  • Experience in regulated enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling integrations
  • Interest in mentoring or supporting junior engineers
  • Experience working in agile development environments
