At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

About the Team:

Application Networking is how everything at Netflix talks to everything else; the front door for external traffic entering the Netflix cloud and the fabric for every service-to-service call across the fleet. We build and operate the systems that make every interaction secure by default, forming the intelligence, identity, and access-enforcement layer across users, services, and agents. We solve problems no one in the industry has hit before us, often in the open, building on and contributing back to the technologies that define this space. At internet scale, we sit in the critical path of every business that drives Netflix's top line, from Streaming to Live, Ads, and Gaming, at the foundation of a seamless experience for 325M subscribers.

About the Role:

As “Group Tech Lead” of the Application Networking organization, you'll partner with Engineering Leads to set multi-year product and technical strategy for the organization. That strategy shapes outcomes across every business vertical Netflix runs, from SVOD to Live, Ads, and Gaming. You'll take on Netflix's hardest problems, forging the architectural path for the communication backbone that connects services to each other, devices to the cloud, and partners to Netflix, across both consumer and enterprise traffic. It's the layer that delivers every stream at global scale, securing every form of identity along the way, from users to services to agents. Your influence extends beyond your own roadmap, shaping where stakeholders and the broader organization invest.

What Sets You Apart:

  • A track record of setting technical direction and influencing architecture across organizations, including with peer teams who don't report to you.

  • Demonstrated experience in architecting, building, and operating foundational distributed systems or platforms at massive scale.

  • A history of identifying and pursuing high-impact opportunities in ambiguous, undefined problem spaces.

  • Experience shaping or contributing to open-source communities, or building systems that set standards others adopt.

  • A track record of elevating the most senior engineers around you and setting the technical bar others follow.

  • Experience communicating effectively across engineering, product, and executive audiences.
