Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance.
Are you a seasoned cloud engineer who loves solving complex distributed systems problems, building resilient platforms, and leading technical teams toward modern infrastructure standards? If so, please read on!
We are looking for a highly competent, technically deep Staff DevOps Engineer to join our CI/CD platform team. In this role, your mission is to treat the delivery pipeline as a highly scalable, secure, and resilient product. You will architect, build, and maintain the underlying infrastructure that enables hundreds of engineers to move code from commit to production seamlessly and safely.
This role shifts the focus toward establishing robust, multi-tenant GitOps continuous delivery patterns, optimizing container orchestration across global EKS environments, and building developer-centric internal tooling.
h2. Duties and Responsibilities
- Platform Architecture & Design: Lead the design, implementation, and scaling of our enterprise, self-service CI/CD platform and cloud-native application runtimes.
- EKS Multi-Cluster Administration: Build and manage production-grade, highly available AWS EKS clusters across multiple regions in a robust, multi-cluster topology. Optimize compute resource scheduling and autoscaling using tools like Karpenter.
- Service Mesh & Network Operations: Deploy and configure Istio Service Mesh across environments to handle advanced traffic management (canary routing, circuit breaking), enforce mutual TLS (mTLS), and manage secure ingress/egress gateways.
- GitOps Platform Engineering: Standardize and maintain enterprise-scale CircleCI workflows and multi-cluster GitOps (ArgoCD) pipelines, building reusable pipeline templates that abstract cloud complexity for product developers.
- Infrastructure Security & Policy: Implement zero-trust security controls across the cluster fleet, including IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA), Kubernetes Network Policies, and policy-as-code validation (OPA/Kyverno).
- Technical Mentorship & Execution: Actively mentor Level 2 and Level 3 DevOps engineers, lead code and architectural reviews, and maintain an active coding footprint in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and system automation.
- Observability & SRE Focus: Build comprehensive, federated monitoring and distributed tracing pipelines across multi-cluster environments using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk to minimize MTTR and improve platform resilience.
h2. Education, Skills and Experience
h3. Experience
- 8+ years of dedicated experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, SRE, or DevOps platform roles.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing, provisioning, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure at scale.
- 3+ years of production experience specifically administrating Amazon EKS and multi-cluster, containerized environments.
- 1-2+ years of hands-on experience deploying and operating Istio Service Mesh or a similar container-mesh solution.
Bonus points if you:
- Have practical familiarity or cross-cloud migration experience involving Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and GKE.
- Have experience with automated platform pipeline security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Checkmarx).
- Hold certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
