JOB DESCRIPTION
UL Solutions is seeking a Software Technical Specialist to provide Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support for the CableBuilder application, delivering day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, development, and customer assistance for external customers. The role is responsible for managing a broad range of support activities, from initial incident diagnosis and issue resolution through to complex technical investigations, root cause analysis, bug fixes, and defect resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, system, database, and configuration issues affecting customer environments.
  • Provide technical support for CableBuilder, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, defects, performance issues, and customer requests.
  • Configure and maintain CableBuilder solutions using application tools and customer-specific SQL scripts where required.
  • Debug, maintain, and enhance Java-based application components, including customer-specific functionality.
  • Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and Infrastructure teams on advanced technical issues, integrations, enhancements, and software improvements.
  • Support customers during critical business periods to ensure system stability and business continuity.
  • Provide technical guidance on system functionality, configuration options, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge-base content.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, support processes, and customer experience.
  • Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and support calls as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, application support, or a related technical role.
  • Strong Java development, debugging, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving issues across applications, databases, and web technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL development and query troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, XML/XSLT, HTML, and CSS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and learn new technologies quickly.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage (i.e German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese)

Total Rewards: We understand that rewards are an important consideration as you plan the next step in your career. Salary range varies by location and local market conditions - for Poland only: the annual salary range for this position is 75,000-100,000 PLN gross - and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for additional incentive with a target payout of 10% of base salary.
