The Opportunity

The Public Sector team partners with U.S. federal customers to deploy advanced security solutions in highly regulated and mission-critical environments. Working closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering, the team ensures SandboxAQ technologies meet stringent operational, compliance, and security requirements.

SandboxAQ is seeking a Public Sector Solutions Architect to serve as a key technical leader on the Revenue team. In this role, you will work directly with customers to design, demonstrate, and implement cutting-edge security solutions, with a core focus on AQtive Guard, our cryptographic management platform.

You will lead technical discovery, deliver impactful demonstrations and proofs of value, and guide customers through cryptographic risk management and compliance with evolving federal standards. This role offers significant ownership and autonomy, with occasional on-site travel to support customer collaboration and successful deployments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead in-depth technical discovery sessions and deliver tailored product demonstrations that address customer mission requirements and technical constraints.

  • Own the end-to-end execution of proofs of value (PoVs), including technical scoping, environment setup, customer guidance, and evaluation against success criteria to secure technical wins.

  • Apply expertise in federal compliance and secure architectures (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, RMF) to ensure effective deployment within restricted government environments.

  • Act as the technical voice of the customer, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to provide field feedback and influence roadmap priorities for public sector use cases.

  • Manage assigned accounts with a high degree of ownership, proactively identifying risks, driving opportunities, and operating independently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in enterprise technical sales, solutions architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role focused on security, networking, or infrastructure.

  • Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance is strictly required.

  • Demonstrated experience working with U.S. Federal Government customers (DoD, Intelligence Community, or Civilian agencies), including deep familiarity with federal compliance frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, and RMF.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Strong understanding of modern security architectures, including network, endpoint, and application security, as well as PKI and encryption technologies.

Highly Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a strong preference for prior security or IT operations experience within federal agencies.

  • Background in consulting or professional services, particularly architecting security solutions across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.

  • Experience translating complex customer requirements into technical deliverables such as solution architectures, proposals, and technical briefs.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, with strong communication skills to drive alignment across sales, product, and partner teams.

  • Proven experience partnering closely with sales organizations and external partners to jointly define and scope technical solutions.
