About the Role:

As a Solution Consultant, Payments, you will serve as Billtrust's payments subject matter expert, partnering with our entire sales team to support both organic payments revenue growth across our existing base of 1,500 customers and new logo sales efforts. You will work closely with a tight-knit team of software sales reps, payment operations, and our product marketing arm to create demand and provide deep financial expertise on payments processing (ACH & Credit Card Merchant Services/Merchant Acquiring) throughout the sales cycle.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the payments subject matter expert embedded with the sales organization, delivering timely Credit Card and banking statement analyses, calculations, and recommendations for account teams and their prospects.
  • Consult with sales teams on their territory and account plans, bringing an informed point of view on which companies make the best payments targets and articulating why.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships internally — people across the company should enjoy working with you quickly, and you should be a trusted payments resource for reps.
  • Create compelling talk tracks that articulate the value proposition behind our Credit Card and ACH processing platform.
  • Lead consultative conversations onsite and via web meetings with financial executives, addressing SME-level questions on payments processing and ROI.
  • Help design and validate payment solutions for prospects and use cases that don't yet exist in the marketplace today.
  • Help develop the next generation of payments training and enablement programs for the broader sales organization.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Solution Consultant, Sales Engineer, or SME supporting complex financial sales cycles — 5+ years of relevant experience influencing and closing pipeline.
  • Ability to build, comprehend, and present ROI analysis to businesses ranging from Mid-Market to the Fortune 50.
  • In-depth knowledge of B2B payments, Interchange, and Card Brands.
  • Demonstrated success supporting the sale of B2B payments, Merchant Services, and/or Accounts Receivable (AR) solutions.
  • Solutions sales experience — comfortable presenting to external groups and prospects in person and through webinars.
  • An organized, self-starter who can work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to maximize performance and meet deadlines.
  • Consultative, entrepreneurial mindset and a results-driven attitude, with willingness to travel up to 20%.
The expected base salary range for this position is $107,680 - $134,600 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for additional incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.

At Billtrust, we believe your total rewards should reflect the impact you make. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health coverage, competitive retirement, generous PTO and parental leave, flexible work options, and meaningful investment in your professional development. We’re building something special and we want you to feel supported while doing it.

At Billtrust, we value an equitable and inclusive work environment and strive to build and foster diverse teams. Even if your work experience doesn’t align exactly with the position requirements, we’d still love to hear from you. You may just be the right candidate for this or other roles.
