Its portfolio includes but is not limited to the TrackRR product line and Fus1on telematics platform.

Position Summary

Road Ready is seeking a consultative Solutions Engineer to help fleet, OEM, and leasing customers understand how connected-fleet technology can address their operational and business needs. You will serve as the technical partner to Sales throughout the presales process leading discovery, shaping solution approaches, delivering tailored demonstrations, and translating complex hardware, firmware, software, connectivity, and sensor capabilities into clear customer value.

You will work with both business and technical stakeholders and collaborate across Product, Engineering, Quality, Implementation and Customer Success. The ideal candidate combines deep technical fluency with strong presentation skills and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery with prospects and customers to understand fleet workflows, operational challenges, business requirements, technical environments, and decision criteria.
  • Partner with Sales throughout the presales cycle, helping shape the technical strategy, address risks and objections, and support well-informed opportunity progression.
  • Plan and deliver tailored product demonstrations and technical presentations across the TrackRR product line and Fus1on telematics platform for fleet, OEM, leasing, and other customer stakeholders.
  • Connect SaaS, device, sensor, connectivity, firmware, and data capabilities to the customer’s use cases and expected business or operational outcomes.
  • Lead or coordinate technical responses to RFPs, RFQs, and customer questionnaires in partnership with Product, Engineering, Quality, and other subject-matter experts.
  • Document customer requirements and solution considerations, including sensor ecosystems, telematics data elements, integrations, and third-party hardware compatibility.
  • Help scope pilots, proofs of concept, technical evaluations, and customer use cases, including success criteria and handoff to implementation teams
  • Ensure strong product/feature adoption and success throughout customer evaluations. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical objections raised during the sales cycle, escalating appropriately to engineering when needed. 
  • Communicate effectively with executives and with stakeholders in fleet operations, IT, maintenance, engineering/OEM, procurement, and other relevant functions.
  • Share customer, market, and competitive feedback with Product and Engineering; provide technical enablement for Sales, channel partners, and customers.
  • Represent Road Ready at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events, including live product demonstrations. 
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of success in sales engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or a comparable customer-facing role supporting complex B2B technology sale; or equivalent demonstrated capability.
  • A consultative approach to discovery, with the ability to connect technical requirements and product capabilities to customer workflows and business value.
  • Technical fluency in a relevant combination of SaaS platforms, connected hardware, firmware, sensors, telemetry/data, connectivity, or third-party technology ecosystems.
  • Experience delivering reliable, tailored live demonstrations and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication, requirements documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong technical background in one or more of the following: UX/UI, firmware, or hardware engineering.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% for customer visits, trade shows, and team engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial vehicles, fleet management, trailer telematics, connected assets, transportation technology, or a closely related industrial IoT environment.
  • Familiarity with GPS/AVL, telematics hardware, IoT sensors, cellular connectivity, BLE, CAN/CAN FD, or related connected-device ecosystems.
  • Experience supporting enterprise, OEM, leasing, or channel-partner sales.
  • Experience with formal RFP/RFQ processes and complex technical questionnaires.
  • Experience supporting pilots, proofs of concept, technical evaluations, integrations, or deployment planning.
  • An engineering or technical background that supports credibility with product and customer engineering teams.
