Regional Sales Manager: South Central Region, United States (Office Location options: Cypress Station, TX, Giddings, TX or San Antonio, TX or areas surrounding this location) 


Reports to N. America National Sales Director, Water, Environmental, Flow Solutions (WEFS) 


Description:

The individual in this role is responsible for meeting the sales objectives in the assigned region. The individual will be responsible for directing and coordinating sales activity in the region with independent area sales representatives & distributors, engineering firms and contractors, developing project specific sales strategies and communicating project requirements to the company’s manufacturing operations, construction divisions and management team. 


Essential Functions:

  • Achieve sales objectives for the assigned region.
  • Initiate regional sales calls and training seminars with area distributors and representatives.
  • Initiate regional training seminars with engineering firms.
  • Develop project & customer specific sales strategy.
  • Instruct distributors, channel partner representatives, contractors and customers concerning product applications.
  • Communicate & coordinate with management and Regional Sales Manager counterparts regarding cross-region project sales activity requirements.
  • Visit customer facilities and/or construction sites to monitor project progress and customer satisfaction.
  • Target new customers, new applications and follow on sales leads.
  • Provide regional reporting regarding target projects & representative / distributor and representative effectiveness / updated market outlook for forecasting purposes.
  • Investigate product complaints and assist customers, manufacturing representatives and distributors in finding satisfactory solutions to sales and service problems.
  • Remain current in knowledge of competitive activities including product lines, pricing, services, market penetration. Report findings of such to management.
  • Participate in national and regional trade shows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or Material Science or Industrial Technology or Business Administration or any equivalent University technical degree)
  • 5-10 years of sales management experience calling on municipal customers contractors, and engineers.
  • Experience managing independent manufacturing representatives and distributors
  • Candidate must be able to work independently, possibly in a home-based office.
  • Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills to include the ability to provide group presentations in a seminar environment.
  • Significant domestic travel is required.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Valid US drivers license and safe driving history

The following are preferred:

  • Technical knowledge and / or experience with FRP composites and or Thermoplastic lined FRP composites used in municipal applications.
  • MBA or Military Officer experience.
