Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Google Sheets Specialist to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate is an expert in Google Sheets, with deep experience using it to manage, analyze, and connect complex datasets — effectively using it as a relational database. This role will support data-driven decision-making across departments, build smart data systems, and automate workflows for operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Management:

  • Design and maintain interconnected Google Sheets systems that mimic relational database structures.

  • Normalize and organize datasets across multiple sheets and tabs for consistency and scalability.

  • Create dynamic dashboards, lookup tables, and structured data flows.

Advanced Sheets Development:

  • Develop formulas, array formulas, queries, and nested functions to manipulate and analyze data.

  • Use Apps Script to automate data processing, integrations, and scheduled tasks.

  • Build tools or templates that can be reused across the organization.

Process Improvement & Support:

  • Collaborate with teams to understand their data needs and translate them into reliable, user-friendly tools.

  • Troubleshoot spreadsheet performance issues and offer scalable solutions.

  • Train or support colleagues in best practices for managing and using complex Sheets systems.

Integrations & Automation:

  • Integrate Google Sheets with other Google Workspace tools (Forms, Docs, Drive, etc.).

  • Use APIs or third-party tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, BigQuery) to connect Sheets to external data sources or systems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of professional experience using Google Sheets at an advanced level.

  • Expertise with QUERY, IMPORTRANGE, ARRAYFORMULA, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, FILTER, REGEX, and other complex formulas.

  • Demonstrated ability to use Google Sheets to simulate relational database behavior.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Apps Script or JavaScript.

  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.

Preferred:

  • Experience integrating Sheets with CRM, ERP, or project management tools.

  • Background in data analytics, information systems, operations, or related fields.

  • Familiarity with SQL concepts and data modeling.
