Job Summary

The Director of Demand Planning is responsible for owning enterprise demand planning and leading the end-to-end S&OP process across all channels, including FDM, Specialty, Wholesale, Outposts, Amazon, and DTC. This role is accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the demand forecast, ensuring alignment with supply planning, commercialization, and financial objectives. As a key cross-functional leader, this individual drives integrated planning across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance while building scalable processes and capabilities across the Planning organization.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities: 

Enterprise Demand Planning 

  • Own the consolidated demand forecast across all channels and product categories 
  • Establish forecasting methodologies, assumptions, and inputs across the business 
  • Partner with Sales, Trade Marketing, and Marketing to incorporate customer, promotional, and campaign insights into the demand plan 
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and demand planning capabilities 

S&OP Leadership 

  • Lead the company-wide S&OP process, including cadence, structure, and governance 
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans 
  • Drive executive-level discussions on risks, opportunities, and trade-offs 
  • Ensure a single, aligned plan is communicated across the organization 

Channel & Planning Leadership 

  • Directly own demand planning while leading team responsible for execution across channels 
  • Provide leadership and direction to Demand & Supply Planner – RTD
  • Ensure clear accountability between demand ownership and planning execution 

Commercialization & New Product Planning 

  • Oversee commercialization planning for new product launches and initiatives 
  • Ensure demand forecasts reflect product launches, promotions, and lifecycle changes 
  • Align Product, Marketing, and Sales timelines with supply readiness and planning assumptions 

Cross-Functional Integration 

  • Serve as the central point of coordination across Sales, Trade Marketing, Route to Market, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain 
  • Ensure visibility into demand shifts, risks, and opportunities across the business 
  • Drive alignment on priorities and execution across functions 

Process, Systems & Analytics 

  • Build and scale planning processes, tools, and reporting frameworks 
  • Partner with IT and Finance to enhance planning systems and data visibility 
  • Develop scenario planning capabilities to support decision-making 

Education and Skill Requirements 

  • 7+ years of experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field, preferably within CPG 
  • Proven experience owning demand planning and leading S&OP / Integrated Business Planning processes 
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel planning (Retail, Wholesale, DTC, Amazon) 
  • Experience supporting commercialization and new product launches 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional alignment and influence executive stakeholders 
  • Experience building and developing high-performing teams 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Physical Requirements 

This is a full-time position and may require long hours and may require weekend and nights work per events. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. 
  • Light to moderate lifting is required. 
  • Ability to uphold the stress of traveling. 
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate. 
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic). 
  • Ability to work in a confined area. 
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
