Company Overview

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two former Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing an autonomous gun turret using advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely detect, track, and neutralize enemy drones.

With an engineering-first culture, ACS values technical excellence and innovation. Backed by our founders’ successful exits from two previous ventures acquired for a combined $180M in 2022, and recently strengthened by a Series B to scale manufacturing and accelerate deployment of Bullfrog, we are committed to ensuring that the groundbreaking technologies we develop will have a real-world impact.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Facilities Technician to support the launch and day to day operation of our manufacturing facility. You will serve as the lead facilities presence on site, helping keep the building, infrastructure, and support systems running smoothly while partnering closely with the Facilities Manager and other cross functional teams. This is a highly visible, hands on role with direct impact on uptime, safety, vendor coordination, and the overall functionality of the site. This role will be based in North Austin and will initially train at our South Austin location.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the site lead for facilities needs at your assigned location and act as the primary point of contact when the Facilities Manager is not on site.

  • Perform and oversee advanced maintenance, repairs, and systems troubleshooting across the facility.

  • Manage site level work orders, including intake, prioritization, routing, and follow through.

  • Source vendor quotes, write clear scopes of work, and ensure proposals are complete and ready for accounting review.

  • Coordinate vendors and contractors on site, including scheduling, escorts, quality checks, and closeout documentation.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records in CMMS or other work order systems.

  • Perform site inspections, maintain condition logs, and identify issues before they become larger problems.

  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to Facilities Technicians and Facilities Associates.

  • Escalate major issues with clear documentation, summary, and recommended next steps.

  • Operate forklifts and other required equipment safely and in accordance with site protocols.

  • Drive between sites or vendor locations as needed to support projects, repairs, and site readiness.

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of experience in facilities, industrial maintenance, mechanical systems support, or a similar hands on role in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong candidates may come from mechanic or skilled trades backgrounds, especially if they have supervisor or management experience, solid building systems knowledge, and a track record of owning projects from start to finish.

  • Advanced knowledge of facility systems, including HVAC operation, electrical awareness, mechanical systems, plumbing troubleshooting, and general building infrastructure.

  • Proven ability to manage projects through completion, coordinate vendors, track timelines, and keep work moving on budget.

  • Experience leading or mentoring junior team members and serving as a reliable resource for troubleshooting and day to day guidance.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or defense environment is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of CMMS, work order management, and maintenance documentation.

  • Ability to obtain clear, well scoped, accounting ready quotes from vendors and contractors.

  • Forklift certification required or ability to obtain and maintain certification.

  • Strong judgment, follow through, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a rapidly growing environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • ACS Equity Package

  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance

  • Paid Time Off
