Who We Are

Mode Mobile builds apps that reward people for engaging with content, entertainment, games, and digital communities they love. Our portfolio includes category-leading products with millions of users globally, growing through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.

You’ll be working closely with NGL (“Not Gonna Lie”), one of the most viral social apps of recent years, with 144M+ monthly users across web and mobile. NGL gives people a safe, curious, and authentic space to connect through anonymous messaging and self-expression.

Now part of Mode Mobile’s portfolio, NGL is entering its next phase of explosive growth, including monetization evolution, brand expansion, social behaviors at scale, and product innovation. This role starts with NGL and will extend across Mode’s broader portfolio as we develop user experiences that shape engagement, retention, virality, and revenue.

Our Team and Culture Drive Our Success

Our team is the heart of our culture.  We value innovation, collaboration, and curiosity, with a passion for getting things done.  We strive to hire and cultivate the best team members and foster a culture of open communication and transparency.  We are driven and hard-working but also committed to having fun along the way.  We allow OKRs to guide us, assume positive intent, sometimes agree to disagree and commit, honor our commitments, seek to accomplish more with less, and encourage everyone to speak up as our team owns our company’s success.

You can read more about our team and how we work here.

The Role

We’re seeking a bold, strategic UX Designer who blends creativity, analytical rigor, and a growth mindset. This is not a simple UI design role; it is for a thinker-doer who wants to shape how millions of users engage, share, and monetize across our products.

You’ll design and optimize user experiences that drive engagement, retention, and revenue, starting with Mode’s new social app, and expanding across Mode’s broader portfolio. You’ll work at the intersection of design, product, data, and monetization, turning insights into elegant, high-impact experiences that fuel growth loops and business outcomes.

We’re looking for a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, sees patterns in data, and acts fast to test, learn, and scale what works.

Who You Are and What You’ll Do

  • Lead user research and experimentation to uncover friction points, unmet needs, and new opportunities for growth.
  • Design and iterate intuitive user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for mobile and web experiences that improve onboarding, engagement, and monetization.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and UA teams to design, ship, and measure high-impact growth experiments (e.g., referral loops, sharing features, conversion paths).
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to guide prioritization, validate design decisions, and inform the next iteration.
  • Contribute to scalable design systems and frameworks that enhance consistency and speed across products.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture, balancing creativity with clear hypotheses, measurable results, and business impact.
  • Continuously propose new ideas, tools, or experiences that can unlock user delight and business performance.
  • Track the latest strategies and trends in app and web design to identify potential opportunities at Mode.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 4–6+ years in UX/UI design with a strong foundation in user research, experimentation, and growth-driven design.
  • Proven success in B2C, consumer mobile or social products, ideally with experience in growth and scale, virality, or projects focusing on driving retention.
  • Fluent in data, comfortable running A/B tests, analyzing behavior funnels, and interpreting product metrics.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business instincts; understands how design decisions influence engagement, LTV, and revenue.
  • Proactive self-starter who moves fast, collaborates well across teams, and takes ownership from idea to launch.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates bold ideas, measurable results, and clear storytelling around user and business impact.
  • Understanding or experimentation with AI to speed up and enhance design workflows.
  • Experience with use of AI for research and data interpretation.
  • Ideal Tools
    • Design: Figma (variables, auto-layout, design system), Lottie, Framer (nice to have)
    • Research: Maze.co, usertesting.com, or similar + Mobbin
    • AI & Automation: GPT5 (for research), Sora.ai/nanobanana/Midjourney
    • Admin/comms: Confluence/Jira, Slack, and Loom
  • Alignment with our core values:
    • Accountable: You take ownership of your responsibilities, demonstrating trustworthiness and self-discipline. You are consistent in your work, transparent in your actions, and communicate effectively. You follow through on commitments and strive for continuous improvement.
    • Action-driven: Identify what is most important, agree on scope, execute in a timely manner, and drive the greatest impact.  You take initiative, roll up your sleeves, and get things done.
    • Caring: You genuinely care about yourself and others, our business and craft, our mission and vision, and are passionate in heart and mind. You understand the importance of our team and strive to create a positive, supportive work environment.
    • Curious: You focus on the ‘why,’ learn and expand your knowledge, explore new ideas, and generally make things better.  You're a lifelong learner with a thirst for knowledge and a constant desire to improve.
    • Thorough: Your work is thoughtful, impactful, timely, accurate, and complete.  You pay attention to detail, are meticulous, and ensure quality work and compliance.

We Believe in the Following Workplace Norms

  • Allow OKRs to Guide Us
  • Assume Positive Intent
  • Agree to Disagree & Commit
  • Set New Precedents
  • Accomplish More with Less
  • Hold Yourself & Others to High Standards
  • Speak Up
  • Be Resourceful
  • Follow the 80/20 Rule

What We Are Offering

  • We are a 100% remote-first, global company.
  • A competitive compensation package.
  • We offer generous perks & benefits to team members.
  • Participation in the Company's equity plan (for full-time team members).
  • We provide individual bonuses in accordance with our Company Bonus Program.
  • Work with energetic, passionate, and results-driven people.
  • Celebrate team members' personal and work milestones.
