About Us:

ShipperHQ, headquartered in Austin, TX, is making a significant impact in the e-commerce shipping space. Founded in 2009, we are a leading supplier of shipping software for e-commerce platforms, serving both SMB and Enterprise customers. With a team of 50+ members globally, including 30+ based in Austin, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in both automation and manual testing.

What You’ll Do:

As a Sr. QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our product. You will focus on executing both manual and automated tests, collaborating with development and product teams, and continuously improving the testing process. You’ll also take an active role in creating test cases, developing test plans, and shaping test strategies. Your leadership abilities will be important as you help mentor team members and contribute to process improvements.

Your Impact:

  • Lead the strategy and implementation of test automation while continuing to execute manual tests for areas not yet automated.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of test cases, ensuring they are comprehensive and well-documented for both manual and automated testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and contribute to the development of detailed test plans and strategies.
  • Identify areas of improvement for testing processes and suggest actionable improvements in test coverage and efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide automation engineers and QA team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Ensure continuous integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and collaborate on process improvements.
  • Conduct exploratory and regression testing to verify software functionalities and ensure product quality before release.
  • Provide detailed feedback to the development team, ensuring defects are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: ISTQB certification or similar testing certifications (preferred but not required).
  • Experience: Extensive experience with both manual and automated testing, including hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and executing automated test frameworks.
  • Tech: Expertise in automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress), solid understanding of SQL for test data management, and proficiency with containerization (Docker) and Unix/Linux shell. Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab is essential.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead test efforts, mentor team members, and collaborate across teams to define and implement effective testing strategies.
  • Personality Traits: Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a passion for driving improvements in both manual and automated testing. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are key to success in this role.
  • Attitude: Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, and is adaptable in the face of challenges. Committed to continuous learning and process improvement.

We are an agile, fast-moving team that likes to roll up our sleeves and solve some of the biggest issues in shipping. You will learn more at ShipperHQ in a year than you would in 3 years at other companies because of our collaborative learning culture that fosters continuous growth and innovation.

Benefits and Perks:
