We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Technology team as a Senior Software Engineer. The candidate would join a small, agile team responsible for building a platform to support our community team. The candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation, and implementation of new product features.

Work Environment: Hybrid - We are in the office Monday, Wednesday & Thursday

What Your Days Will be Like:

  • Participate in team collaborative agile ceremonies
  • Help mentor junior engineers
  • Raise the bar in coding standards and agile processes
  • Deliver high quality features for our customers
  • Have ownership and accountability for the team's work
  • Care about how our customers are using our products through production monitoring

What You'll Be Working On: 

  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to ensure the highest quality product platform
  • Collaborate with peer organizations, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions
  • Develop highly available and highly scalable applications
  • Generate technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests
  • Shape development processes to promote a high-quality output while continuing to iterate
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

The right individual will be a proactive, self-starter that enjoys and thrives when connecting people and technology to solve complex problems at-scale. You love researching industry trends and remaining current on emerging technology. You have a knack for recommending which technologies and vendor products should be brought into the portfolio to solve relevant business and delivery problems. You will analyze, model, and develop complex and high-level architecture plans that require the integration of multiple technologies and coordination of functional areas across the organization. If you have a passion for long-term end-to-end thinking balanced with working directly with delivery teams to craft increments that enable value for customers now, this role is for you! 

    • 6+ Years Professional Experience 
    • Experience with AWS infrastructure
    • Experience developing scalable, multi-tier web solutions, ideally for a consumer website
    • Experience with relational databases, document databases and/or key/value stores
    • Experience with the following:
      • Java
      • GoLang
      • Kafka
      • Docker
      • Kubernetes
      • GraphQL / REST / gRPC

Salary Range: 135,000 - 170,000. The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
