About Storable

At Storable, we're redefining property management for specialty real estate.

Across our Marine and RV & Camping businesses, we build software that helps operators manage essential workflows including reservations and online bookings, point of sale, payments and billing, customer and guest records, digital waivers and agreements, reporting, and other tools that keep specialty hospitality businesses running smoothly.

Overview

Storable is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Specialty Verticals engineering organization and help build software for marinas, boat clubs, campgrounds, RV parks, glamping resorts, rental operations, and other hospitality-focused businesses.

This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer with strong fundamentals, practical production experience, and a demonstrated ability to use AI as a meaningful part of their workflow. This posting supports openings across both our Marine and RV & Camping teams, with final team placement based on business need and candidate fit.

You may support Marine, RV & Camping, or shared initiatives that strengthen both product lines. The common thread is building reliable, maintainable software for operators who depend on our platforms every day.

What you'll do every day
  • Build new features and product improvements across Storable's Marine and RV & Camping platforms
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, refactoring, documentation, and technical discovery
  • Review AI-generated output with strong engineering judgment for correctness, security, maintainability, and architectural fit
  • Partner with infrastructure and platform teams when work touches CI/CD, AWS, deployment workflows, monitoring, or reliability concerns
  • Reduce technical debt through thoughtful refactoring, modernization, and pragmatic architecture improvements
  • Troubleshoot internal bugs and customer-reported issues with speed and care
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, support teams, and engineers to turn business and customer needs into reliable technical solutions
  • Mentor other engineers and participate in collaborative development practices, including backlog refinement, design discussions, and technical documentation
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure confidence in the systems we build
What you need to bring
  • 7+ years of practical software engineering experience, ideally including production web applications
  • Strong full-stack experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, or comparable technologies
  • A track record of shipping reliable, maintainable software in production environments
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of a modern engineering workflow, with the judgment to improve rather than blindly accept AI output
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, debugging, testing, performance, scalability, and technical tradeoffs
  • Clear communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
How we expect engineers to use AI

We are especially interested in engineers who treat AI as a serious engineering tool and can point to practical ways it has improved how they build software. You should be comfortable using AI to:

  • Explore implementation options, compare tradeoffs, and help structure technical design documents
  • Generate first drafts of code, tests, documentation, scripts, diagrams, and migration plans
  • Debug unfamiliar systems and reason through complex code paths
  • Refactor legacy code safely and incrementally
  • Improve developer velocity, validate assumptions, and pressure-test technical decisions
  • Build internal tools, automation, and workflows that reduce repetitive engineering work
  • Review AI-generated work critically for correctness, maintainability, security, and product fit

We value engineers who know when AI can accelerate the work and when careful human judgment is required.

Technical background

We do not expect every candidate to have deep experience in every technology listed below. Strong experience in several of these areas, combined with the ability to learn quickly and use AI effectively, is what matters most.

Primary technologies and tools may include: Node.js, TypeScript / JavaScript, PHP, React, MySQL, REST APIs, testing frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT.

Bonus points
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems or incrementally refactoring older codebases
  • Experience working in SaaS products that support complex operational workflows
  • Experience with reservations, bookings, rentals, payments, point of sale, customer management, service operations, or marketplace-style systems
  • Experience building internal AI-enabled tools or workflows for engineering teams
  • Experience mentoring engineers on prompting, AI-assisted code review, or AI-driven development practices
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD systems, AWS services, serverless functions, or related deployment tooling
The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with strong fundamentals, practical production experience, and a high level of fluency with modern AI-assisted development tools.

You know how to reason through systems, debug difficult problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and ship reliable software. You also know how to use AI to move faster, explore more options, improve quality, and reduce repetitive engineering work.

You bring judgment, curiosity, technical depth, strong communication habits, and modern execution speed.
