About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Falcon Risk Platform team at CrowdStrike. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in designing and building the foundational risk platform that powers our industry-leading cybersecurity solutions. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, including Golang, microservices architecture, and various database ecosystems, to deliver comprehensive visibility into risks, management features and prioritization workflows.
Our team is responsible for building and maintaining the Risk platform group within Falcon Exposure Management PG, which offers a single pane of glass experience by aggregating all risks within an organization in a single place. You'll work on a globally distributed, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable cloud ecosystem that supports integration of risk from Crowdstrike's internal providers as well as from 3rd party integrations.
As a technical leader, you'll drive end-to-end product delivery, architect scalable solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define priorities and scope. Your expertise will directly influence the cybersecurity landscape, protecting organizations from sophisticated threats while advancing the state of the art in exposure management.

What You'll Do:
Backend Architecture and Development: Design and develop scalable backend services powering both internal and customer-facing web applications, with a focus on performance, reliability, and security. Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and data pipelines to support the growth of the platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
Cloud Infrastructure and Operations: Collaborate with the DevOps team to design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
Database Management and Data Engineering: Design and implement database solutions using large scale distributed data stores (C*, OpenSearch, Iceberg, Neo4J), OLAP data stores (Apache Pinot) and distributed caching solutions like Redis or ValKey, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and performance. Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics. Ensure data security and compliance across different databases and data stores.
System Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot complex distributed architectures, identifying and resolving performance and reliability issues. Develop and implement monitoring and logging solutions to improve system visibility and debugging capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize performance optimization opportunities.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership: Partner with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI, Sensors, and other teams, to deliver integrated solutions with comprehensive documentation. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring knowledge sharing and skill development within the team. Collaborate with technical leaders to define technical vision and strategy.
Operational Excellence and Service Reliability: Configure advanced monitoring, alerting, and maintain high availability for production services, ensuring robust and healthy service operations. Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to minimize downtime and ensure high availability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize operational excellence initiatives.

Technical Expertise
Advanced programming expertise in object-oriented languages (Golang, Python, or similar)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Distributed Systems & Architecture
10+ years of production experience with large-scale distributed systems
Proven microservices experience with scalable REST APIs and distributed communication patterns
Solid distributed systems understanding (concurrency, parallel processing, scalability patterns)
System troubleshooting expertise for complex distributed architectures
Data Engineering & Infrastructure
Experience building data platforms at scale with distributed ETLs/ingestion pipelines
Message queue proficiency (Kafka or similar)
Database versatility (OpenSearch, Cassandra, Redis, Valkey, etc)
Past experience with OLAP systems and large-scale analytical problems
Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
AI/ML Integration & Development
Experience integrating AI tools into SDLC pipelines
Proficiency with AI-powered development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT)
Strong understanding of secure AI-assisted development practices
Agent task coordination: Organize AI agents to manage complex workflows, including sequential processes such as planning, design, development, and validation.
Intelligent code review: Use AI-based tools to analyze pull requests for security vulnerabilities and code quality improvements before manual review.
Leadership & Best Practices
Engineering best practices experience (testing, code reviews, fault tolerance & resilient architecture)
Collaborative technical skills
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Experience contributing to technical decisions
Bonus Qualifications:
Practical experience with Golang, Cassandra, Kafka, Opensearch, SQL, Redis, Apache Pinot
Prior experience in the cybersecurity or intelligence fields.
