The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining code within ServiceNow to implement new capabilities and features, enhance performance, and ensure maintainability. Additionally, the Senior Software Engineer contributes to Agile planning, offers expert advice, and monitors emerging trends.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product Management to understand customer and end-user challenges, and design effective solutions.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces to enhance team effectiveness and reduce technical debt.
  • Anticipate capacity requirements for component usage and identify limitations.
  • Provide input on story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.
  • Contribute to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems.
  • Develop solutions across multiple ServiceNow products to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Perform troubleshooting and investigations as needed.
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced software engineers.
  • Actively participate in the engineering community, stay updated on new software technologies and best practices, and share insights with the organization.

Skills:
  • Ensure adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
  • Design, code, test, correct, and document ServiceNow scripts, workflows, triggers, and actions according to agreed specifications and standards.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow's Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Extensive experience in IT Operations Management (ITOM).
  • Extensive experience in engineering and operations, with a background in developing and managing a CMDB.
  • Participate in reviews of own work and lead reviews of colleagues' work.
  • Manage ServiceNow enhancements to improve business performance.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Agile application development practices.
  • Strong ITSM product and development experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field.
  • Certified in ServiceNow system administration and/or application development (CSA, CAD).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ServiceNow Micro or Implementation Certifications.
  • Agile Certifications.

USD 99,000.00 - 165,000.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
