Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Governance & Information Architect to lead design of robust data governance and information architecture strategies within the Microsoft Purview and Fabric ecosystems. In this critical role, you will act as the "Data Trust & Value Architect," ensuring that our enterprise clients' data is managed responsibly, securely, and in alignment with business objectives. You will be the expert on how Purview and Fabric work together. 
This position is a remote position with Home Office setup as determined by SHI management. 

Presales Engagement:

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand client requirements, goals, and pain points. 
  • Design and present tailored solution solutions, addressing business and technical needs. 
  • Lead discovery sessions, technical workshops, and assessments to evaluate current environments and identify opportunities for modernization. 
  • Create comprehensive technical proposals, including solution architecture, implementation roadmaps, and cost estimates. 
  • Lead the development of SOWs, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with client needs and business objectives. 
  • Drive revenue growth within the professional services team by identifying new opportunities and optimizing service offerings. 

Microsoft Purview Expertise: 

  • Design data governance frameworks and policies using Microsoft Purview. 
  • Architect data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality solutions. 
  • Manage data security and compliance requirements. 

Microsoft Fabric Governance: 

  • Design data governance strategies within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. 
  • Utilize Fabric's data governance features to ensure data quality and security. 
  • Understand and design security best practices within Microsoft Fabric. 
  • Expertise in how Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric integrate. 

Information Architecture: 

  • Develop information architecture principles and best practices. 
  • Design data models and data domain management strategies. 
  • Ensure data is classified and managed appropriately. 
  • Synergistic Collaboration: 
  • Collaborate with the Data & AI Solutions Architect to define data governance requirements for data pipelines. 
  • Work with the AI Architect to ensure AI/ML models comply with data governance policies. 
  • Help define data domains and information architecture that improves the performance of AI models. 
  • Client Engagement: 
  • Conduct client discovery sessions to understand their data governance and information architecture needs. 
  • Develop and present compelling proposals and demonstrations that showcase the value of Microsoft Purview and Fabric governance capabilities. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on data governance best practices. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in data governance and information architecture. 
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview and data governance within the Microsoft ecosystem. 
  • Experience with data modeling and data domain management. 
  • Strong presales experience, with a focus on data governance and information architecture. 
  • Education: 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Expertise in Microsoft Purview (Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Data Governance). 
  • Strong understanding of information architecture principles. 
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements (GDPR, CCPA). 
  • Expertise in how Purview and Fabric integrate. 
  • Soft Skills: 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.    
  • Strong client relationship management skills. 

Preferred Microsoft Certifications:  

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) 
  • Azure Data Analyst Associate (DA-100/DA-200) 

Preferred Industry Certifications: 

  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) 
  • Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP) 
  • Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) 
  • Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) 
  • Master Data Management (MDM) 
  • Certified Data Governance Practitioner (CDGP) 
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) 

The base salary for this position is $128,000 - $176,000. The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary and bonus/commissions, are $160,000 - $250,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
