The Position:
We're looking for a Staff Accountant to support transactional and recurring close work across our entities. This is a hands-on, high impact role on a small finance team that recently brought its accounting operations in-house.
We operate in a multi-entity NetSuite environment with US and Canadian subsidiaries across multiple product lines. An interest in helping build out processes and documentation as we go, alongside a high level of independence to dig in and solve puzzles, are essential to the role.
What You Will Own:
- Accounts Payable. Bill entry, GL coding, and department tagging in Bill.com, along with vendor setup and maintenance, employee expense reports, and corporate card coding.
- Billing & Accounts Receivable. Customer invoicing and renewal billing, cash application, and collections and customer follow-up on current through 90-day balances.
- Revenue Close. Post monthly revenue recognition entries out of NetSuite ARM, confirm revenue plans have processed as expected, and own the month-over-month revenue variance analysis by entity and revenue type, tracing variances back to source transactions.
- Reconciliations. Assigned bank and balance sheet account reconciliations across our US and Canadian entities, including CAD-denominated accounts. You'll maintain the underlying prepaid, accrual, and deferred revenue schedules, post the related entries each period, and explain what's driving the variances.
What You Bring:
- 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience
- Working knowledge of NetSuite, including transaction entry, saved searches, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with accruals, prepaids, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Bank reconciliation and balance sheet account reconciliation experience, including the ability to research and explain differences.
- Strong Excel skills, pivot tables, lookups, and the judgment to build a schedule someone else can follow.
- Clear written communication and the discipline to document your own work.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Revenue recognition experience under ASC 606, ideally in a subscription or SaaS environment.
- NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) experience.
- Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting experience.
- Experience in a fast-growing startup or SaaS environment.
