This is a fully remote role within the United States.

At Turquoise, our mission is to make healthcare pricing simpler, more transparent, and lower cost for everyone. Today, patients routinely undergo procedures with no way of knowing what they will cost up front, and the financial complexity behind this is one of the largest, most stubborn problems in U.S. healthcare. We are working to fix it.

You will own the design and delivery of the interfaces that power patient-facing systems at Turquoise. Your role will define the strategy for how we structure, manage, and maintain the healthcare pricing information behind our consumer experiences with accuracy and scale that make our mission possible.

Responsibilities
  • Technical leadership: Own and architect the systems behind our consumer applications, including how we model and store patient data. Define the strategy for critical data flows with accuracy and auditability as first-order requirements.

  • Hands-on development: Ship features for pricing, cost-estimation, and shoppable services, supporting current and future use cases.

  • Collaboration: Be a trusted partner to product and engineering leads, aligning roadmaps, technical tradeoffs, and cross-team dependencies.

  • Build and invest in the team: Direct and level up others, keeping a high engineering bar.

What you’ll bring to the role
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, primarily in Python, building systems and services to power consumer products.

  • Early-stage or high-growth startup experience, comfortable with ambiguity and a fast pace, having built 0-1 and knowing when to harden what’s there.

  • A track record of taking ownership and driving successful outcomes on high-stakes, company-critical problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to peers and executives alike.

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Benefits
  • Competitive pay with equity options

  • Stellar health care plan options (Medical, Dental & Vision), with FSA, DCFSA, & HSA options

  • Company-sponsored disability & life insurance

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 401(k) + 4% Matching

  • Fully remote work + flexible working hours

  • $750 work-from-home setup budget

  • Paid biannual in-person company summits

  • Quarterly $150 co-hanging stipend to meet up with coworkers

  • Monthly $100 health and wellness benefit

  • Generous paid family leave

  • Annual $1,200 learning & development stipend
