A Staff Test Engineer manages and executes within the test development team owning ATE test solutions from planning stage to production stage including continuous improvement.  With years of experience in semiconductor industry, this role involves collaborating with multiple functions such as Product, Quality, Design, and Validation to ensure release of ATE solutions in a timely manner. 

Renesas Electronics, a leading global semiconductor company, is rapidly scaling its AI-focused power delivery business. Products include high-performance digital power VRMs, multiphase controllers, Smart Power Stages (SPS), Vertical Power Stages (SPS with integrated capacitors and multiple silicon die), Power Towers (power modules integrating multiple SPS-equivalents with capacitors and inductors), and power MOSFETs.

Job Description

  • Develop best of class test programs to support key NPI, quality & capability initiatives
  • Support qualification, characterization, and correlation of developed products
  • Implement and develop baseline software and hardware solutions for scaling the broader team or organization
  • Complete quality planning, hardware and software reviews for the test group
  • Coordinate with product engineering and operations to enable seamless production ramp and release
  • Support production yield and customer return activities for quality
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced engineers
  • Manage 3rd party relationships and building success with external technical teams 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Electrical, Computer Engineering or other related field with 5+ years or equivalent experience  
  • 5+ years of experience working with Automated Test Systems (ATE). 
  • Experience with COHU Diamondx, SPEA DOT800, Advantest V93K, ETS364. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in ATE test development for analog, digital and mixed signal test engineering. 
  • Experience in programming such as C++, basic, Perl, python, and a history of implementing well designed code templates and libraries. 
  • Experience in testing and collecting data on IC chips or circuits using standard tools such as Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers, etc. 
  • Proficient with ATE analog digital instruments, PCB layout parasitic reduction, and strong debug/troubleshooting experience 
  • Hands-on experience in debugging analog products comm protocols & memory 
  • Experience with test hardware and test program development 
  • Travel 0-10%
