As a Strategic Business Unit Strategist, your primary responsibility will be partnering with the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Strategy Lead in the development, revision, and communication of SBU strategy artifacts. You will collaborate directly with the leaders and other key stakeholders to evaluate growth opportunities, assess environment trends, and develop and build consensus around strategic initiatives to drive Naval Power’s success. By conducting thorough analyses and evaluations, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the SBU's competitive position, risk profile, and business outcomes.
Naval Power (NP) specializes in sensors, command and control and precision weapon solutions to protect allied ships and sailors around the world. Key offerings include classified naval radars, Next Generation Jammer, naval shipboard missiles, including ESSM, RAM, SM-2, SM-3 and SM-6 missiles, naval air missiles, such as the AIM-9X SIDEWINDER missile and Tomahawk cruise missile, and naval systems, such as the SPY-6 radar.
This will be a remote position, with preference in one of the following Raytheon locations: Woburn, MA; McKinney, TX; Tucson, AZ; Farmington, CT or Arlington, VA. Relocation assistance not provided
Some travel may be required – domestic and international – to other RTX and target company sites.
What You Will Do
- Lead analyses and present strategic recommendations related to these and other areas.
- Business investments
- Budget analysis
- Mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures
- Customer trends
- Discriminators and competitive position
- Process and business structures
- Collaborate across the strategy organization, your Strategic Business Unit (SBU), other SBUs, and other functions.
- Participate in both SBU level and Raytheon level strategic projects.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
- Experience in corporate strategy or project management.
- Experience in data analytics, data visualization, storytelling, and research (ex. sensitivity analysis, business case development, market assessments).
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
- Active / transferable Top Secret and SCI clearance.
- Experience working in the defense industry.
- Experience and / or knowledge of the U.S Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
- Excellent communication skills working with global teams.
- Experience working on a corporate strategy team or consulting firm or with strategic decision-making frameworks.

This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
