This is a remote position.
The Support Project Manager (PM) ensures the shift runs without disruption. While the Senior PM owns the project end-to-end, the Support PM owns the shift. Keeping production flowing, tasks moving, and issues resolved within their assigned hours.
This role exists in two engagement tracks with distinct scopes of responsibility:
At Staff level, the PM applies foundational project management knowledge and skills to assigned tasks, with impact scoped to the individual task or shift rather than a full project. People management responsibility is limited to self. The role does not yet carry team leadership accountability. There is no financial or budget ownership at this level.
Freelance Support PM
Accountable for accurate, on-time completion of assigned tasks within the shift
Escalates blockers or issues to the in-house shift lead or SPM as appropriate
Does not carry shift lead authority or team-level escalation responsibility
Operates within a clearly defined task scope agreed upon per engagement
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Task Execution
Execute assigned PM support or coordination tasks accurately within the shift
Follow task briefs and guidelines provided by the SPM or in-house shift lead
Complete deliverables within agreed timelines and flag blockers proactively
Maintain clear task logs and update status as required
Escalation Handling
Freelance: Escalate blockers directly to the in-house shift lead or SPM as directed
Document escalations and resolutions for Senior PM visibility and audit trail
Quality Control Support
Support QC activities during the shift as needed for both tracks
Apply QC at the task level as directed; flag issues upward to shift lead
Communication & Coordination
Maintain clear communication with the Senior PM during and after the shift on all notable events
Provide task status updates to the shift lead or SPM as required
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Shift Operations & Task Management
Ability to manage multiple moving parts across a shift without losing visibility
Strong task prioritization and traffic management skills (In-House emphasis)
Familiarity with production workflows and task management tools
Comfortable working with urgency and maintaining composure under shift pressure
Communication & Coordination
Clear, professional written communication, particularly for handoff notes, shift logs, and escalation reports
Ability to relay information accurately and concisely between layers of the team
Proactive in flagging issues without waiting to be asked
Problem-Solving & Judgment
Freelance: Exercises judgment within the task scope; escalates rather than improvises outside it
Stays calm and methodical in escalation scenarios
Quality Awareness
Working knowledge of QC standards and review processes
Attention to detail in reviewing or executing production output during the shift
Consistent application of quality standards set by the Senior PM
