The Support Project Manager (PM) ensures the shift runs without disruption. While the Senior PM owns the project end-to-end, the Support PM owns the shift. Keeping production flowing, tasks moving, and issues resolved within their assigned hours.

This role exists in two engagement tracks with distinct scopes of responsibility:

At Staff level, the PM applies foundational project management knowledge and skills to assigned tasks, with impact scoped to the individual task or shift rather than a full project. People management responsibility is limited to self. The role does not yet carry team leadership accountability. There is no financial or budget ownership at this level.

Freelance Support PM

  • Accountable for accurate, on-time completion of assigned tasks within the shift

  • Escalates blockers or issues to the in-house shift lead or SPM as appropriate

  • Does not carry shift lead authority or team-level escalation responsibility

  • Operates within a clearly defined task scope agreed upon per engagement

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Task Execution

  • Execute assigned PM support or coordination tasks accurately within the shift

  • Follow task briefs and guidelines provided by the SPM or in-house shift lead

  • Complete deliverables within agreed timelines and flag blockers proactively

  • Maintain clear task logs and update status as required

Escalation Handling

  • Freelance: Escalate blockers directly to the in-house shift lead or SPM as directed

  • Document escalations and resolutions for Senior PM visibility and audit trail

Quality Control Support

  • Support QC activities during the shift as needed for both tracks

  • Apply QC at the task level as directed; flag issues upward to shift lead

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain clear communication with the Senior PM during and after the shift on all notable events

  • Provide task status updates to the shift lead or SPM as required

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Shift Operations & Task Management

  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts across a shift without losing visibility

  • Strong task prioritization and traffic management skills (In-House emphasis)

  • Familiarity with production workflows and task management tools

  • Comfortable working with urgency and maintaining composure under shift pressure

Communication & Coordination

  • Clear, professional written communication, particularly for handoff notes, shift logs, and escalation reports

  • Ability to relay information accurately and concisely between layers of the team

  • Proactive in flagging issues without waiting to be asked

Problem-Solving & Judgment

  • Freelance: Exercises judgment within the task scope; escalates rather than improvises outside it

  • Stays calm and methodical in escalation scenarios

Quality Awareness

  • Working knowledge of QC standards and review processes

  • Attention to detail in reviewing or executing production output during the shift

  • Consistent application of quality standards set by the Senior PM
