Job Description

Surveillance Analyst

As a Surveillance Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in keeping our customers and platform safe by investigating high-risk activity and ensuring compliance with AML/CFT regulations.

What You'll Do

• Investigate high-risk customers, analyze transactions, and determine potential risks.
• Review complex cases with a deep understanding of Wise's compliance framework and global regulatory requirements.
• Perform due diligence using internal and external data sources, assessing business structures, country risk, and customer profiles.
• Make informed, risk-based decisions and document findings with clarity and accuracy.
• Communicate directly with customers on escalated cases-balancing empathy with strong decision-making
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams to evolve policies, improve processes, and enhance risk management strategies.
• Identify suspicious activity and escalate concerns to AML and fraud teams when necessary.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing across teams.

Qualifications

About you:

As the Surveillance Analyst you should have the following skills:

• Excellent verbal and written English skills (additional language skills are a plus) with the ability to clearly articulate your thoughts.
• You're flexible with working hours - your shifts would include some weekends
• You have an exceptionally inquisitive mind. You are always looking out for more information where available, enjoy conducting investigative research utilising open-source research systems.
• You have a great eye for detail. You are meticulous and can look at information with factual precision;
• You have exceptional logical thinking. You are naturally able to interpret data and draw logical conclusions;
• You have great communication skills, both written and verbal. You are able to express your thoughts concisely and logically; you're able to communicate in a cross-team environment;
• You're able to articulate and justify your decisions. You are confident and comfortable making independent judgement calls;
• You're able to work under pressure. You can multitask efficiently and take responsibility in challenging situations;
• You're punctual, independent, proactive and curious to learn;
• You're a true team player but happy working alone on independent projects/tasks;
• You're open to and value feedback in order to improve

Additional Information

  • Salary: 29.80 USD per hour
  • This is a hybrid position located in Austin, Texas and not fully remote. You must be able to commute to the office or open to relocation
  • You must already be legally authorized to work in the US, we cannot sponsor Visas for this position
