The SVP, Brand Strategy owns brand strategy direction for major accounts or portfolios, serving as a trusted senior advisor to clients and the ultimate steward of brand outcomes.
SVPs lead high‑stakes brand decisions, shape long‑term brand direction, and ensure strategies deliver against business objectives. While they help reinforce strong strategic craft, their primary focus is owning account strategy, guiding teams through complexity, and partnering closely with clients to influence critical brand decisions that drive growth and differentiation.
What you'll do:
- Own brand strategy direction across major accounts or portfolios; set vision, priorities, and strategic direction for client work
- Lead development of brand positioning, messaging architecture, and brand narratives that guide integrated execution
- Serve as the senior strategic advisor to clients; influence high‑stakes decisions and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics
- Partner closely with Engagement Strategy, Creative, Medical/Scientific, Analytics, and Account leadership to ensure brand strategy is activated effectively
- Guide teams through complex strategic challenges; provide escalation support and course‑correction when needed
- Ensure brand strategy remains aligned through execution and adapts to evolving client and market needs
- Mentor and develop VPs, Senior Directors, and Directors; build strong, confident account‑level strategy leadership
About you:
- 12+ years of experience in brand strategy with deep experience leading complex client accounts
- Proven track record of owning brand strategy outcomes and influencing senior‑level client decisions
- Strong people leadership skills; able to lead, mentor, and develop senior strategists in high‑pressure environments
- Executive presence and credibility with clients and internal leaders
- Strong strategic thinker and storyteller with the ability to translate insight into decisive brand direction
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically (generally up to 20%)
