The SVP, Finance Operations is responsible for leading Pyramid's regional and property-level finance organization and partnering with Operations to drive profitability and overall financial performance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the SVP has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, managing and continuously improving property-level financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting and fiscal management activities, while maintaining a strong cadence of accountability and effective internal controls. The SVP serves as a strategic advisor to regional, property and corporate leadership, as well as ownership groups, on financial performance, capital and return-on-investment opportunities and other escalated matters. The role also partners with Business Development to review and approve pro formas and underwriting assumptions and provides day-to-day leadership to Pyramid's regional finance structure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•    Lead the regional finance function as a strategic business partner to Operations, providing actionable financial analysis, decision support and guidance to improve property and portfolio performance.

•   Drive accountability for profitability throughout the income statement and evaluate strategic property-level improvements, capital investments and other return-on-investment opportunities.

•   Oversee the delivery of timely and accurate property-level financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, annual budgeting and fiscal management activities consistent with the needs of owners, business units, lenders, franchisors, governmental authorities and other stakeholders.

•   Work with ownership as needed on escalated financial matters, including return-on-investment opportunities, cash management, hotel management agreement matters and other significant performance issues.

•   Work collaboratively with Business Development and its analyst group to build, review and approve pro formas and underwriting assumptions that appropriately showcase Pyramid's performance capabilities and support viable investment decisions.

•   Oversee the recruiting, development, performance management, succession planning and retention of regional and property-level finance talent; support an organizational structure that is efficient, flexible and scalable as the portfolio evolves.

•   Promote and maintain an effective system of internal controls and partner with the CFO, Corporate Accounting and property teams on year-end audits, audit requests, identified control deficiencies and corrective action plans.

•   Support internal audit and compliance efforts for adherence to Finance and Accounting policies and procedures, working with corporate, regional and property teams to resolve findings and strengthen processes.

•   Provide finance-operations leadership and coordination with Corporate Accounting and Shared Services on matters affecting managed hotels, including payroll, accounts payable, banking, income audit, tax compliance and other services necessary for efficient fiscal management.

•   Advise regional and corporate leadership on enterprise-wide initiatives and emerging business issues, bringing a broad financial perspective to operating and strategic decisions.

•   Consistently refine best practices, identify opportunities for process improvement and inspire leaders at all levels to develop new ways to improve future performance.

•   Follow direction set by the Chief Financial Officer in collaboration with Pyramid Global Hospitality's Chief Operating Officer.

This position has direct supervisory responsibility for regional finance leadership and functional oversight of finance personnel supporting the managed hotel portfolio, as assigned.

What are we looking for?

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in Hospitality finance operations and/or finance serve to strengthen a candidate's profile.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) and its application to hotel financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Four-year college degree required, master's degree would strengthen a candidate's profile.
  • Proven success in team selection, situational leadership, motivation, leading change, team building and accountability to achieve breakthrough performance across the organization.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must possess a strong capability to analyze information, understand and identify opportunities for performance and process improvement and lead others to successfully act on identified opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills along with an ability to prioritize work to achieve maximum performance from available resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with C-level executives internally and externally to advance Company performance and capabilities.
  • Ability to marshal resources and inspire a team to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support property, regional, ownership and other business needs.
