Systems Architect, Advisor

Position Duties & Responsibilities 

• Develop data center infrastructure architectures, designs, standards, and modernization solutions supporting scalable and resilient operations. 

• Translate business and mission requirements into target-state infrastructure architectures and phased roadmaps. 

• Ensure alignment of proposed solutions with enterprise technical architecture and applicable federal standards. 

• Support cost/benefit analyses for architecture options and vendor/technology selections.

Requirements 

• Currently possess or be able to obtain VA Public Trust — High Risk (BI High) / Tier 4 background investigation. 
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; 8+ years of infrastructure architecture experience. 
• Education substitutions (per Peraton Career & Compensation Framework): Master's degree substitutes ~2 years of required experience; Ph.D. substitutes ~5 years of required experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience is acceptable (Associate's degree + 2 additional years also accepted for equivalent professional levels). 

Desired Skills, Tools & Certifications 

• Tools: Architecture modeling tools (MS Visio, ArchiMate, Lucidchart), Nlyte AO/EO, ServiceNow CMDB, AutoCAD, and Power BI. 
• Processes: ITIL v4 service management, SAFe Agile / Scrum for iterative delivery, NIST 800-53 / RMF, ISO 27001, TIA-942, ASHRAE TC 9.9, VA CRISP alignment, NFPA 70/70E, and OSHA safety practices.; TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture frameworks. 
• Certifications (desirable): TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, BICSI RCDD, Uptime Institute ATD., ITIL v4 Foundation (Practitioner/Managing Professional a plus), SAFe Practitioner or SAFe DevOps.
