About the Role

We are seeking a Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to be the operational owner and subject matter expert for core Windows-based infrastructure supporting our PatientKeeper platform.

This role requires a reliable generalist to manage and maintain mission-critical components, including the Windows server environment, Cisco network devices, and Active Directory services, ensuring stability as we modernize our legacy systems. You will play a key role in unifying the PatientKeeper access management systems.

This is a remote position in the Greater Boston Area, requiring availability for core day shift operations and mandatory off-hours critical incident coverage.

What You'll Do
  • Windows Server Administration: Act as the primary owner for the PatientKeeper Windows server environment (including legacy versions back to 2012), performing configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Core Network Generalist: Manage day-to-day configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Cisco ASA firewalls and Cisco switching/routing infrastructure, including building and maintaining site-to-site and client VPN tunnels with customer networks.

  • Active Directory & Access Management: Be responsible for the Active Directory infrastructure, including the design and setup of new Active Directory network configurations and ensuring accurate Windows DNS functionality.

  • Database Support: Provide administration and operational support for the Oracle DBA environment used by the PatientKeeper product.

  • Collaboration: Work across teams to maintain security policies and ensure the integrity of the internal access management directory.

What You Have
  • Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration.

  • Operating Systems: Deep expertise and comfort with Windows Server Administration (2012 and later) and the related service stack.

  • Network Fundamentals: Strong working knowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco switching/routing, and site-to-site vpn tunnels.

  • Identity Management: Active Directory (AD) administration, including group policy management and Windows DNS configuration.

  • Database Exposure: Familiarity with Oracle Database environments for operational support and maintenance.

  • Virtualization: Experience with VMware services, including VMware data center virtualization and VMware Horizon. (Proxmox a plus)

  • Technical Documentation: Experience writing technical design documents and maintaining documentation.
