JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Technical Account Manager (TAM) serves as a trusted advisor to enterprise, commercial and federal clients bridging business objectives, IT strategy, and technology solution delivery. This role combines technical expertise, consultative sales leadership, and executive relationship management to help customers achieve business outcomes through the effective adoption of infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, AI, and emerging technology solutions.

The TAM partners with C-level executives, IT leadership, architects, engineers, and account teams throughout the customer lifecycle, leading technical strategy discussions, solution development, risk mitigation, roadmap planning, and adoption initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in enterprise technology environments, complex solution selling, and cross-functional leadership.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Customer Engagement

  • Act as the primary technical advisor for assigned enterprise accounts.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, IT Directors, and business stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic technology discussions focused on digital transformation, cloud modernization, cybersecurity, AI, data analytics, networking, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Translate business objectives into technical strategies, roadmaps, and solution recommendations.
Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical oversight across solution design, architecture reviews, implementation planning, and operational adoption.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales architects, consulting teams, managed services, and professional services organizations to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Conduct executive briefings, technical workshops, architecture reviews, and business value assessments.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and customer concerns.
Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Partner with account executives to identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Drive technical discovery sessions and lead solution positioning efforts.
  • Support RFP/RFI responses, solution architecture development, technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Develop account technology roadmaps that identify expansion opportunities and maximize customer value.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Technology-related discipline) preferred.
  • 15+ years of combined experience in enterprise IT, technology consulting, solution architecture, technical account management, sales engineering, or strategic technology sales.
  • 10+ years supporting enterprise and mid-market customers in complex technology environments.
  • Proven experience managing large strategic accounts and executive-level customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated success influencing and closing complex technology opportunities with annual revenue responsibility.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, operations, consulting, support, and executive leadership.
BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS:
  • Exceptional consultative selling and relationship management skills.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise business processes, financial drivers, and IT governance frameworks.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both executive and technical audiences.
  • Proven track record leading strategic technology discussions with C-level stakeholders.
  • Experience building technology roadmaps aligned with business outcomes.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$200,000$225,000 USD
