As Technical Director, you'll be responsible for assisting producers to create beautiful, visually compelling broadcasts and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. You will work closely with all members of the production team to produce a polished final product that informs and inspires our audience. You will also help train new employees and lead production teams assigned to cover news or sporting events. You'll be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, and accurate content to connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Production environment - 3+ years
- Education: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in television production, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude and experience with television control room and studio production technology including video switchers, audio mixers, character generators, DVE's, robotic camera controls, production automation systems, newsroom editorial software, and automated on-air playout systems
- Skills: Competent understanding/skills related to shot composition, lighting and aesthetics, excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate solutions
- Abilities: Requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative, ability to handle criticism, even temperament, and a positive approach to problem solving, lift/push/pull/maneuver equipment up to 50 pounds
- Schedule: Ability to work different or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies, ability to work weekends and holidays
