TITLE: Technical Instructional Designer

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Learning Developer with a strong track record as an instructional designer to join our team at Duck Creek University. As an integral part of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge learning experiences for our employees, customers, and partners. Leveraging your expertise in instructional design and adult learning theory, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create engaging training materials and programs that meet the diverse needs of our audience. The Senior Instructional Designer will work closely with the Instructional Design team and the Senior Director of Duck Creek University to analyze, plan, and execute the creation of learning assets and environments for our students.  

Job Functions & Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess learning needs and define clear objectives for training programs. 
  • Design and develop innovative learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, job aids, and assessments. 
  • Apply instructional design principles and best practices to create effective and engaging learning experiences. 
  • Work closely with multimedia specialists, trainers and other team members to produce high-quality multimedia training content. 
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments, task analyses, and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training initiatives. 
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and adult learning theory to continuously enhance our training offerings. 
  • May act as a team lead in delivering content for Duck Creek Products 
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned to you that relate to the successful creation of learning assets.  

WHAT YOU’VE DONE:

REQUIRED: 

  • 2+ years of creating learning assets leveraging modern e-learning tools such as Articulate, storyline and Adobe Captivate 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Proven experience in instructional design and development, preferably in a corporate or technology-driven environment. 
  • Deep understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning technologies. 
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS). 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a passion for learning and professional development. 
  • Experience working in a technology organization to support new and existing product launches and enhancements. 
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects with success in delivering learning assets on time. 
  • Strong Presentation and communication skills.

Actual compensation for this role is determined based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location, where permitted by law.

For reference, the expected salary range for this position is generally positioned as follows based on candidate location:

  • 91,500 – 130,700: Candidates living in the Boston, New York City–Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC metropolitan areas
  • 87,200 – 124,500: Candidates living in Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, or in Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, or Vermont
  • 82,900 – 118,400: Candidates living in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oregon, or Wisconsin
  • 73,400 – 114,700: For all other U.S. locations

This position is also eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.

Final compensation will be determined based on the factors outlined above and in accordance with applicable law.
