Applied Materials' Dielectrics Deposition Products (DDP) Manufacturing is currently seeking an experienced New Product Transition Project/Program Manager. This role is both strategic and tactical, with the main objective of transitioning new products from design into a volume manufacturing setting. This is a dynamic work environment with talented individuals who are at the forefront of creating future technologies.

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced professional with a strong background in project management in a technical field. They should also possess strong leadership, organization, and people skills.  The ability to create and present technical information to a diverse audience, including engineers, PMs, management, and executives, is a must. 

As the New Product Transition Project/Program Manager, you will:

  • Be fully accountable for the success of the project and product within the boundaries established by the BU, as defined in the Project Contract and PDP process requirements.
  • Lead matrixed operational team of New Product Manufacturing Engineers, Material Project Managers, DFX Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Supplier Engineering, and Procurement to manage program deliverables from Manufacturing Operations.
  • Engage in Pilot Manufacturing to ensure early learning builds meet target milestones.
  • Resolve business process operational issues between the Business Unit, Pilot Operations, and Volume Production.
  • Align with Cross-Functional Product Management Team to develop a plan and execute product commercialization strategy.
  • Engage the Engineering team to analyze the design and identify product improvements for enhanced volume manufacturability.
  • Manage risk exposure to the division through analysis of product maturity.
  • Interface with Business Operations of the BU on execution of operational strategy.
  • Initiate and lead Operations strategies to improve business processes.
  • Drive Product Life Cycle Operations deliverables for Business Unit New Product Introduction programs.
  • Prepare and present high-level presentations on Program status and strategic overview to senior management.
  • Assist the top management in his/her reports and following up with his directs for all the data and information required.
  • Organize meetings, preparing agendas and MoMs for meetings, and following up on action items to closure.
  • Plan and Define Scope, Activity Planning/Sequencing, and Resource Planning for Pilot builds
  • Develop Schedules, Time, Cost Estimation/Targets, Budget, and Documentation
  • Conduct risk analysis, managing risks and issues, and monitoring and reporting progress regularly.
  • Manage cross-project interdependency management to manage conflicting priorities and plan resources.
  • Understand and communicate the wider objectives of the program and define the benefits that will realize the program's strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Mfg. Operations in Product Life Cycle and Engineering Change Management.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate to diverse functional groups and stakeholders on the program/project status.
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment with a wide range of individuals involved in program management under pressure and efficiently manage priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt different points of view.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesizing skills, including finding innovative ways to resolve problems and leading others to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in a specialized discipline or field.
  • Proficient & skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint to effectively communicate to program cross-functional teams.
  • Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Expertise in data gathering, analysis, and creative reporting using Charts and analytical reporting with Microsoft Excel.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures for Financial planning and tracking.

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Exposure to developing Excel Macros
  • PMP / Scrum Certification
  • Exposure to data analytics tools such as Minitab.
  • Semiconductor experience is a plus

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
