About the Role
Cloudflare is seeking a highly analytical and technical UX Content Strategy Intern to join our Product Content Experience (PCX) team. This is a high-impact, autonomous role designed for a student ready to drive data-informed content decisions that directly improve the experience for millions of developers.
You will be embedded within the PCX team, partnering closely with technical writers, video producers, developers, and product managers to enhance our technical content ecosystem. This is a highly analytical role where you will utilize data to identify content gaps and drive major improvements across user-facing platforms (documentation, dashboards, and websites). You will learn to "vibe code" and embrace AI as a content partner to increase efficiency and support new, seamless user journeys. This opportunity provides the chance to step back, see the bigger picture of organizing complex technical content, and influence how developers learn and interact with our products.
Responsibilities
  • Content Ecosystem Analysis: Analyze performance data to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and content needs across various technical platforms and user flows (documentation, API references, product dashboards).
  • UX Content Improvement: Work alongside technical writers and UX strategists to implement content-driven improvements, focusing on clarity, consistency, and organization of technical information for diverse developer audiences.
  • User Journey Mapping: Focus on seeing the "bigger picture" by mapping out complex developer journeys and proposing structural or content changes to streamline new user onboarding and feature adoption.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the content connection point between Developer Experience teams, Technical Writing, and Product teams to ensure all content is accurate, usable, and strategically placed.
  • AI & Code Integration: Explore and implement the use of AI tools and technical content structures (e.g., "vibe coding" or YAML/Markdown organization) to improve content modularity and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in a field requiring Journalism, Marketing, Technical Communication, Information Science, Computer Science, or UX/HCI.
  • A portfolio of writing samples or case studies demonstrating the ability to structure and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 12 week summer internship.
  • In office 3-5 days a week in Austin, TX.
  • Technical Comfortability: Demonstrated high comfort level with or a fierce eagerness to learn technical concepts, developer tools, and content platforms.
  • UX "Chops": Foundational understanding of user experience principles and how content impacts the user journey.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills, with the professionalism to work with technical experts and product leadership.
  • Proven proactive and responsible attitude with the willingness to partner in leading projects and owning outcomes from concept to completion.
  • Demonstrated capacity for self-management, and a positive response to feedback as a tool for rapid growth.
Bonus Points
  • Experience or interest in coding, version control (Git), or actively editing/writing in platforms that require technical content structures (Markdown, YAML, etc.).
  • Familiarity with content analytics, A/B testing, or using data visualization tools to drive content decisions.
  • Practical experience leveraging generative AI and prompt engineering to improve content quality or team efficiency.
  • Experience with design tools (Figma) and understanding how content works within component-based design systems.
