Job Description

This role will industrialize priority next-generation technologies through the development of a structured industrialization playbook and lead the execution of priority initiatives to deploy select technologies in existing or new products. Key focus areas:

  • Develop and execute a holistic new technology industrialization strategy, identifying key technologies to be incubated and critical steps to reach industrialization 
  • Lead cross-functional projects around the industrialization of next-generation technologies ensuring SQDC targets 
  • Support an integrated roadmap and operating cadence that drives timely decisions, measurable outcomes, and sustained impact across functions
     

Role & Responsibilities:

Technology industrialization portfolio development

  • Work with cross-functional teams to continuously monitor technology landscape and support structured current state reviews (industry structure, economics, exposure, SQDC baselines)
  • Develop an assessment methodology for the prioritization of investments and resource allocation across technologies to be scaled
  • Translate the industrial base and technology strategy into a prioritized portfolio of initiatives with clear business cases, TRL/MRL targets, investments, owners, and timeline

Industrialization strategy development

  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to align technology options with industrial base options
  • Lead structured assessments of baseline capacity, yield/quality, delivery, and cost for the technologies in scope
  • Identify critical bottlenecks and constraints to be solved for industrialization and determine targeted actions to close gaps
  • Develop optimal strategy and roadmap for technology industrialization through a combination of make/buy/partner levers

Execution, governance, and cadence

  •  Drive bias for action—shorten decision cycles and deliver measurable SQDC improvements.
  • Establish and run decision forums and action reviews (e.g., technology pipeline reviews, value stream reviews, industrialization gates); assign owners, due dates, and success metrics.
  • Track milestones, risks, and benefits realization; escalate blockers and reallocate resources as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated 1-3-5 year roadmap for select technologies that sequences initiatives, technology deployments, and capacity actions, with clear dependencies and integration points.

Performance management and reporting

  • Lead the deployment, coaching, and sustainment of FLIGHT DECK lean operating principles as applied to technology industrialization
  • Build dashboards for TTIs and PPIs; monitor trends; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct monthly operating reviews and quarterly strategy refreshes; update the roadmap based on results.
  • Codify lessons learned; update standard work, templates, and playbooks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university + 5 years of experience in technology development, strategy, supply chain, or related fields

Desired Characteristics and Experience:

  • 5+ years in aerospace engineering design/development, supply chain, operations, industrial engineering, sourcing, or strategy/transformation within complex manufacturing
  • Experience with technology industrialization and scaling: taking new technologies, materials, or processes from development through validation and into production, including supplier and factory readiness.
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual problem solving; comfort with quantitative analysis and translating complex technology and industrial constraints into clear options and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal); ability to influence without authority and work effectively across all levels.
  • Familiarity with project/program management, TRL/MRL frameworks, and digital or analytical tools that support technology and industrial base decision-making.

The salary range for this position is $167,000 - $222,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
