Description

    The Telehealth Physician performs comprehensive telehealth diagnosis and management of patients in partnership with field responders (generally cross-trained paramedics) and facilitates the coordination of patient care across various providers and services to achieve integrated and improved patient outcomes. The Telehealth Physician works remotely while a highly trained field responder is at the patient’s side. Together, the telehealth experience is elevated to include many services unable to be performed by a remote practitioner, including, but not limited to,  hands-on physical exams, Bedside Ultrasound assessment, IV access, medication administration, respiratory care, foley catheter care, G-tube care, CLIA waived blood testing, viral and bacterial swabs and more.  The Telehealth Physician is also responsible for visit documentation and live communication back to referring clinical teams. 
     
    This role works as part of a collaborative provider team including nurse practitioners and physicians assistants and have their clinical expertise called upon to assist these providers in the care of patients.

Shifts

    Scheduling is dependent on need.  Minimum of 4 days availability including one weekend day/month.  Shifts are 8-12 hours.

    Hours of operation are 7 days/week 9am-9pm EST

Requirements & Preferences

  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice.

  • Current state license in Pennsylvania, or Louisiana

  • Well-versed in various Electronic Medical Records 

  • (Preferred) Prior experience working within a value-based care environment, partnering with population health/care management teams, treating patients via telehealth 

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams

  • Familiar with and able to demonstrate multicultural competency and facility with identifying socioeconomic and educational issues facing the populations we treat 

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Special Considerations

  • On behalf of the physicians, myLaurel will coordinate applications for multi state licensing.  At times, the physician will need to be able to respond in a timely manner to help complete the process,  which may include providing proof/copies of certifications, licenses, fingerprinting, notarized documents, etc

  • Must be able to provide an appropriate telehealth environment during patient care: clean, quiet, internet access with appropriate connectivity, HIPAA compliant privacy, appropriate dress, appropriate lighting. 

  • Must complete all required mandatory company learning modules in a timely manner
