Responsibilities

The Total Rewards Sr Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing, evaluating, and administering GM Financial's compensation and programs.  The position will conduct research and global data analysis regarding various aspects of the plans, Identify and develop process improvements, and implement programs accordingly.  The Total Rewards Sr Analyst will monitor global compensation  trends in the business environment and must stay abreast of applicable legislation. This team member is responsible for providing subject matter expertise on administration, compliance, vendor management, reporting, as well as employee communication and education for compensation programs.  The Total Rewards Sr Analyst will provide support to the Total Rewards management team and other GM Financial employees. 

In this role you will: 

  • Conduct job analysis, market pricing, and internal equity review to determine base pay and salary grade recommendations for new positions across countries
  • Participate in published global salary surveys, conduct customized salary surveys, and evaluate compensation survey data to determine company's competitive position 
  • Evaluate current and newly created job descriptions for components such as level cutters, an appropriate title, the GM Financial format, and descriptive knowledge, skills, and abilities 
  • Collaborate with Payroll/ Accounting 
  • Provide root cause analysis on issues and processes to drive efficiency and resolve issues quickly 
  • Work with IT on Oracle HCM and other IT projects –  configurations, patches, testing, etc 
  • Maintain list of processes and ensure processes are kept up to date 
  • Work with internal audit, manage projects and process changes as a result of findings, track and report management action plans for findings 
  • Keep HRBPs and other global business leaders up to date on their areas of responsibility 
  • Review position classifications to assure compliance with US Fair Labor Standards Act. 
  • Stay abreast of US federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations, as well as trends in total compensation practices, as well as main global compensation laws and regulations, in order to ensure Company compliance 
  • Participate and provide support in the planning and administration of the annual salary review processes for assigned business units 
  • Review of proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies, and practices across countries
  • Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related problems 
  • Conduct special total rewards audits; determine if individuals/groups need to be adjusted based on market findings 
  •  Support in the audit review process for the monthly, quarterly, and annual bonus payments; report any variances seen, and communicate important trends and measures to management. 
  • Thoroughly examine calculations, ensuring that all information has been recorded and paid accurately; perform reconciliation as needed. 
  • Perform financial analysis and cost analysis for strategic initiatives and special projects. Make recommendations regarding financial impact of initiatives and projects. 
  • Assist in leading the design, communication, and implementation of incentive and base pay programs
Qualifications

  • Using HR databases and information systems (eg, HRIS)
  • Normal office environment subject to stressful situations 
  • Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours may be required 
  • Travel may be required to support business needs 

Work Experience 

  • 4-6 yrs experience in the Human Resources field, preferably within compensation or benefits; comparable or equivalent related experience considered; working towards CCP, CBP certification Req 

Education 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required 
  • Associate Degree 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or in related field or equivalent work experience Preferred 
  • Master’s Degree
