Transportation Logistics Coordinator

Company: CTV (Coastal Trading Ventures) – Product Prep & 3PL Services
Location: Fort Worth, TX (Onsite)
Reports to: Director of Operations
Compensation Range: $85,000-$90,000

About CTV

CTV is an established 3PL and product preparation operation supporting high-volume ecommerce brands for over 15 years. We specialize in receiving, prepping, kitting, and shipping large quantities of product—primarily into Amazon FBA—at scale.

Our operation runs hundreds of truckloads per month across inbound freight, outbound FTL/LTL, and direct-to-Amazon shipments. Transportation efficiency is critical to our margins, warehouse flow, and customer experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Transportation Logistics Coordinator to fully own our domestic freight execution and cost optimization strategy.

This role is not a basic scheduling position. It is a high-impact operations role responsible for managing 200+ LTL and FTL shipments per month, owning our drop-trailer programs, auditing freight spend, and actively driving down transportation costs through smarter planning, negotiation, and execution.

You will work closely with warehouse leadership, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure freight moves efficiently, equipment turns quickly, and unnecessary transportation costs are eliminated.

What You’ll Own1. Freight Cost Optimization & Auditing (Primary Focus)
  • Analyze freight spend, lanes, and shipment data to identify opportunities to:

    • Convert high-cost LTL into consolidated FTL shipments

    • Improve pallet density and reduce “shipping air”

  • Rigorously audit freight invoices and dispute:

    • Invalid accessorial charges

    • Re-weigh and re-class adjustments

    • Detention, demurrage, and other avoidable fees

  • Actively monitor live-load performance and eliminate detention through better planning and carrier coordination

2. Shipment Execution & Drop-Trailer Program Ownership
  • Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to plan, schedule, and execute:

    • Inbound freight

    • Direct-to-Customer shipments

    • Direct-to-Amazon (FBA) shipments

  • Serve as the primary owner of CTV’s drop-trailer / drop-and-hook programs

    • Coordinate daily trailer pulls and returns

    • Ensure empties are returned on time to avoid yard congestion

    • Maintain continuous trailer availability for warehouse operations

  • Track trailer dwell time and enforce negotiated free-time to avoid per-diem or rental penalties

3. Capacity Planning & Warehouse Coordination
  • Partner closely with warehouse leadership to:

    • Maximize pallet counts per truck

    • Ensure efficient loading windows

    • Prevent underutilized shipments

  • Balance carrier schedules with warehouse throughput to maintain smooth dock flow

4. Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Track and report on key transportation KPIs, including:

    • Cost per load

    • On-time pickup and delivery

    • Trailer utilization and dwell time

  • Identify and implement process improvements that streamline freight booking, communication, and execution across teams

QualificationsExperience
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation or logistics operations managing high-volume LTL and FTL freight

  • Required: Direct, hands-on experience managing drop-trailer / drop-and-hook programs

  • Demonstrated success reducing freight costs through:

    • Negotiation

    • Mode conversion

    • Shipment consolidation

    • Invoice auditing

  • Experience with Amazon FBA or ecommerce fulfillment is strongly preferred

Technical Skills
  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, freight and trailer aging reports)

  • Experience working within a Transportation Management System (TMS); YMS experience is a plus

Soft Skills & Work Style
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and process-driven

  • Confident communicator and negotiator with carriers

  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment

  • Takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution

Why This Role Matters

Transportation is one of the largest cost drivers in our operation. This role directly impacts:

  • Freight spend

  • Warehouse efficiency

  • Carrier performance

  • Customer satisfaction

You will have real ownership, real influence, and measurable impact on the business.
