About Business Financial Group

Business Financial Group (BFG) is a U.S.-based accounting, tax, and financial advisory firm providing tax preparation, tax planning, IRS and state tax resolution, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced U.S.-based Tax Resolution Specialist with an active Enrolled Agent (EA) credential or CPA license to handle tax resolution cases and represent clients before the IRS.

Candidates must have at least five years of direct experience representing taxpayers before the IRS. General tax preparation experience alone does not meet this requirement.

This is a project-based, part-time opportunity. Working hours are flexible, provided agreed deadlines are met, cases progress promptly, and the specialist remains accessible for communication and scheduled IRS calls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned U.S. tax resolution cases from initial review through completion.

  • Review IRS notices, account transcripts, tax records, and supporting documents to identify issues and recommend appropriate resolution strategies.

  • Represent authorized clients before the IRS and communicate directly with IRS agents, revenue officers, and other relevant personnel.

  • Handle matters such as outstanding tax liabilities, installment agreements, offers in compromise, penalty abatement, collection notices, liens, levies, and other assigned resolution issues.

  • Prepare and submit required authorizations, correspondence, financial statements, and supporting documentation.

  • Coordinate with BFG’s team to obtain missing information, explain case requirements, and provide clear progress updates.

  • Monitor response dates, submission deadlines, and follow-up commitments to ensure timely delivery.

  • Maintain complete and accurate case records in BFG’s designated system.

IRS Communication and Documentation

Every conversation with an IRS agent or representative must be logged in BFG’s designated system promptly, preferably on the same business day. Each entry must include:

  • Date and time of the conversation.

  • IRS representative’s name and identification number, if provided.

  • Relevant client, tax period, and case reference.

  • Summary of the discussion and information exchanged.

  • Outcome, commitments made, and documents requested.

  • Next steps, responsible person, and applicable deadlines.

Relevant correspondence and supporting documents must also be uploaded to the case record.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently based in the United States.

  • Active EA credential or CPA license in good standing.

  • Minimum five years of hands-on IRS taxpayer representation and tax resolution experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and communicate effectively with IRS personnel.

  • Strong knowledge of IRS collection processes and tax resolution options.

  • Excellent written communication, organization, and case documentation skills.

  • Ability to deliver accurate work within agreed timelines.

  • Willingness to use BFG’s systems for case updates, documentation, and task tracking.

Availability and Communication
  • Remain reachable through WhatsApp or text message for work coordination during mutually agreed availability windows.

  • Respond promptly to messages and communicate any delays or obstacles early.

  • Be available for scheduled IRS calls, client discussions, and internal case reviews.

  • Use BFG-approved secure channels and systems to exchange and store confidential client information.

Engagement and Compensation

Work will be assigned on a project or case basis according to business needs and the specialist’s availability. Scope, deliverables, deadlines, and compensation will be agreed upon before each assignment.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume, EA or CPA credential details, and a brief summary of your IRS representation experience, including the types of tax resolution cases handled. Include your availability and expected project-based or hourly compensation.

Please submit your updated resume in PDF format only. Resumes submitted in other formats may not be considered.
