The Services Customer Communications team oversees creating and governing all transactional content that is sent to Services customers. This content is executed across digital communications channels, including email, SMS, system notifications, UI messaging, social media, chatbots, and internal tools. While the primary focus will be on transactional touchpoints, you’ll also experiment with new avenues to build holistic and connected end-to-end experiences. 

In this role, you’ll collaborate with designers, writers, developers, and other key business stakeholders to create, test, and improve communications. Understanding the context and where the customer is in their journey is critical to being successful in this role.   

You will: 

  • Simplify internal technical and non-technical information to compose quality writing in the form of email messages, notification texts, and other communications that our customers can understand and use to get the most out of our service offers 

  • Craft, write, edit, test, and improve content to align with Dell’s brand voice and the Services style guide  

  • Become an expert in your assigned workstreams or product groups 

  • Evaluate the customer’s communication journey across different channels to understand what information is relevant and useful to the customer  

  • Inspire the Services Customer Communications team to become advocates in how they use content in designs and storytellingWork alongside researchers to understand customer needs and mindsets, uncover new opportunities for engagement, and define what information is needed 

  • Evolve with trends in content design and UX to stay informed of best practices

Essential Requirements 

  • 2+ years of experience working directly in UX writing, content design, content strategy, or information architecture; 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, journalism, technical publishing, or related fields; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree or PhD; or equivalent experience 

  • Experience writing clear, concise, and compelling content for different use case scenarios on a large complex website or software applications with standards in accessibility, and globalization in mind. 

  • Ability to design content solutions to improve systems, overcome technical constraints, and reduce content debt  

  • Strong storytelling skills and experience sharing strategic rationale of content decisions with stakeholders 

  • Mastery of conversational writing in United States English that is professional, yet approachable, and inclusive 

 

Desirable Requirements 

  • Experience working with style guides, transactional email templates, qualitative research, and collaborative design and project tools such as Figma, Miro, LeanKit, and SmartSheet 

  • Experience working in an agile environment, product management or UX design.  

 

 

Compensation  

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The salary range for this position is $152,150 - $196,900
