About the RoleWe are looking for a Sensor Verification & Test Engineer, responsible for the bringing-up, performing the lab verification and field testing of a variety of cutting-edge sensors to ensure that our systems are ready for any future challenges of the real-world driving. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience with all major sensor modalities for autonomous systems while building a career at the intersection of hardware and software. This is a part-time position at 20 hours a week for a 6 month contract.
What You'll Do- Perform the bring-up and the initial setup of the various sensor samples according to the manufacturer documentation.
- Execute sensor verification to ensure hardware performance aligns with technical specifications.
- Help design, build, and maintain specialized test stands for verification and validation.
- Conduct lab and field tests in accordance with existing methodologies and in strict compliance with safety guidelines
- Collaborate on the design of new testing methodologies and continuously improve existing ones.
- Synthesize raw test data into structured technical reports for the stakeholders and manufacturers and store them in the knowledge base.
- Maintain and improve both the methodology registry and the knowledge base.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electronic Engineering or related STEM fields (or equivalent education, work experience/certifications).
- Proficiency with the Linux terminal, basic networking (IPv4 and Subnetting), and automation via Bash/Python.
- Solid understanding of DC circuits (Voltage, Current, Resistance, and Power). Ability to interpret datasheets to ensure correct power delivery and prevent hardware damage.
- Technical writing skills and experience with Markdown/Wiki documentation.
- Ability to work independently with the high attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM fields.
- Familiarity with Git, Wireshark, embedded Linux, ROS.
- Foundational understanding of Electronic Engineering and common hardware interfaces (CAN, Ethernet).
- High-level understanding of sensor technologies: Camera, LiDAR, Radar, IMU, and GNSS.
- Hands-on prototyping skills, such as soldering and 3D printing.
Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
