About the Role
Stord is a growing supply chain technology company, and the Senior Director of Business Development is a senior individual contributor who owns our most strategic enterprise relationships. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will lead complex, multi-stakeholder pursuits from first conversation to signed agreement, serve as a trusted advisor to executive buyers, and shape how Stord goes to market with large enterprise customers across the US. You’ll help prospects modernize their supply chains through technology and digitally connected services, and you’ll help sharpen our approach for the rest of the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Own a portfolio of strategic, high-value enterprise pursuits, and lead them end to end from target identification through close
  • Build account strategies and run account-based campaigns for named enterprise targets across transportation, warehousing, and e-commerce fulfillment
  • Develop executive-level, consultative relationships (VP and C-suite) and position Stord’s full breadth of supply chain services against each prospect’s business objectives
  • Lead discovery and design tailored logistics solutions for complex, multi-node supply chains, partnering with solutions, operations, and finance on scoping and pricing
  • Lead negotiation of large, multi-year agreements and navigate lengthy buying cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Serve as a senior voice of the customer: bring market, competitor, and prospect insights back to Sales, Product, and Operations leadership
  • Mentor and coach Business Development team members on enterprise selling, deal strategy, and executive engagement (no direct reports)
  • Partner with Operations and Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff and a successful customer launch
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts, and client interaction records in the CRM

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years in a sales or business development role focused on supply chain, warehousing, or fulfillment, with a track record of closing complex enterprise deals
  • Demonstrated success selling to and negotiating with executive-level decision makers
  • Experience leading long, consultative sales cycles with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of the 3PL, warehousing, transportation, and e-commerce fulfillment landscape. Hands-on operations experience in these areas is a strong plus
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to build account plans and influence without formal authority
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and executive presence
  • High energy, perseverance, and learning agility, with a willingness to have fun
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid start-up environment while keeping the customer’s interests first
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Passion for technology
